Replying To Afinestick96:  "Cant really blame pundits the bookies have Galway Kilkenny and Dublin as top 3 favourites and they are never too far wrong. Have to say though if we can get off to a good start with a win on Saturday I fancy us to cause at least one shock particularly in the park."
What qualifies as a shock? We've gotten results against everyone over the last 8/9 years.

It's unlikely but I'd love to see Kilkenny win well in salt hill. Don't really want to play them the week after they lose

I think 99.9% of the country expects Galway Kilkenny and Dublin to be the top 3 but I have a feeling we might sneak in which may shock some people but not us.

We have our own job to do in Newbridge first but I think Kilkenny will be a really tough game for us whatever happens. Always a one score game no matter what grade we seen that on Saturday with the under 20

Said it last year and applies for this year - Will definitely need to be on at least 3 points from the first 3 games if we're to have a chance of getting through. Our championship more or less hinges on the game in Nowlan Park and probably more so the home game vs Dublin.

Very defeatist line to take I reckon

You have to play them sometime and you'll likely be coming off a win regardless of what KK do in Galway on Saturday.

We are expecting it to be very tight but we are hopeful of a win and that would put Kilkenny under pressure immediately should that happen. If we lose we have Offaly second up which is a game we really ought to be winning

Replying To Viking66:  "I dont think we had a poor League. We used nearly every player on the panel except lads who were injured, or sub keepers. Murphy acknowledged we had players coming back, though he didnt know who they all were! He didnt even know when Chin came back this year. Id say none of the 3 of them saw many minutes at all, if any in Murphy and O'Donoghues case, of our team this year."
I'm not saying we had a poor league either but I think k there's a perception out there outside of Wexford that we had a poor league

Fully agree with you. Hoping for a good performance saturday to set us up for round 2 and 3. Kilkenny away and Dublin at home will have a massive bearing on our season if we can get into the top 3. Really think we owe Dublin one too. Cant wait for it now every game is intriguing but for us all eyes for us has to be on Saturday for now. We have to win then we can look forward to two huge games

A shock would be us doing it in the same year Doyler! Not beyond us.....

The league game against Kildare ended in a facile win for us but it's vitally important that we don't go to Newbridge on Saturday and give a lack luster performance and hope to win.
We are well known to be a team that sometimes under performs against so called weaker teams.
Kildare will know this and will give it a good lash on their own compact ground and a vocal local support.
Will Jacko, Shane Reck and Molloy line out or maybe sprung from the bench if needed?
According to previous reports by management Jippo will not play until later in the round Robin.
He's badly missed and it's unfortunate that is the case but it's better he's fully fit before he makes an appearance.
Looking forward to seeing the team selection .

It will certainly be a different game to the one in the Park a few weeks ago.

We need to be clinical on Saturday. If we get chances in the first half particularly goal scoring chances we have to take them. The longer Kildare stay with us the more they will grow in confidence and it will become a real dog fight which we have to avoid

Wexford have such a poor record against Dublin you'd think on the law of averages they have to beat them sometime. Won't be much between them either way

I don't think it will be that different. Kildare be more up for it and are physically aggressive but Wexford should have too much for them.

This - given its their home patch and their game against Offaly - will be the ones Dowling will have them most up for no doubt so any Wexford head staggers as shown against Westmeath and other in past would be potentially costly. I reckon Rossiter not going to walk into that.

Hope so! Haven't actually beaten them in a round-robin game since winning the first one back in 2018. But right that there's never much between them, and should have been even less if you consider the "goal" that Dublin were awarded last year when the ball clearly didn't cross the line:
2018 - Wexford by 2
2019 - draw
2020 - n/a
2021 - n/a
2022 - Dublin by 1
2023 - Dublin by 2
2024 - draw
2025 - Dublin by 4

For many years we just about got over the line v Dublin . Said it at the time if they do beat us we ll struggle going forward against them as they will have the monkey off their back we won games that they really shoukd have won it was just a lack of belief on their part at the time . And it came true . Now we struggle to get one over on them any time we play but we can feat them fir sure .
Like once we beat kilkenny it lifted our belief .
Really cant see kikdare beating us surely after losing to westmeath we reset our minds from thinking we had the right to win .
Now it should be go out and qin it no-one will do it for us .

No reason why you shouldn't qualify. Nowlan park doesn't faze Wexford and Dublin at home are hardly unbeatable either. Be careful that Newbridge or Tullamore doesn't become a banana skin.
