Dublin V Tyrone Should NOT Be In Croke Pk!

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I'm fine with the other Quarterfinals being in Croke Park but the Dublin-Tyrone match shouldn't be.

Aren't the 10 year tickets for Croke Park sold on the basis that all the football QFs will be there?

Why? Give reasons why you think it shouldn't be played in croke park

Dubs will, as always, play where we're put.

Judging by our CP performances this year, we'd be happy enough to play anywhere but CP!

Unfortunately since 2002, all quarter finals have been played in Croke Park. This followed a motion by Roscommon to Congress, when they won the Connacht title in 2001 & didn't get a game in Croke Park. Would need to go to Congress to get that changed

Home advantage is worth 2-3 points in a GAA match.
All Q finals are in Croke Park Tyrone will have to be 4-5 points better than Dublin to win.

You seem a bit worried there about the Dubs ...

If you want to bate Dublin play them in Hq. Their record there this year is dismal.

Nothing beats beating the Dubs in Croke Park. Croke Park or nowhere. Keep all games before the quarterfinals out of Croke Park.

2001 was the first year of the 'back door' in football. Roscommon won Connacht but lost the All Ireland quarter final to Galway in a match played on a damp August evening in McHale Park in Castlebar. Galway went on to win the All Ireland.

If Tyrone are 1 point better they win.

Probably not but if you say that then no AI final should be in Croker either if Dublin are in it.Really nothing you can do about it.Double headers will be sellouts on both days.

Tyrone like Dublin are playing in fits and starts. If con is back I think that will swing it their way. Midfield will be some battle.
