That's the Dubs doing a "three strikes and they are in"? Isn't it hard enough to bounce them on a one-off day?"
Dublin unlike others have won all All Irelands route one, no second chance. As it should be in championship. Ought to be goid with rest of losers now.
If this year's draw was applied in next year's format of 8 provincial finalists drawn at home against 8 qualifiers, it could look something like: ROUND 1 Donegal v Tyrone Kerry v Roscommon Meath v Monaghan Mayo v Dublin Galway v Cavan Louth v Cork Clare v Down Armagh v Derry * Note: Just taken higher ranked league teams as provincial winners for example purposes and for exaggeration purposes paired runners up with those classified as "Seed 4" this year. ROUND 2A Donegal v Kerry Meath v Mayo Galway v Louth Down v Armagh * Note: For the Round 2A draw after Round 1 - it seems provincial winners could clash in Round 2A depending on luck or bad luck of the draw. ROUND 2B Tyrone v Derry Roscommon v Clare Monaghan v Cork Dublin v Cavan ROUND 3 2A losers v 2B winners. QUARTER FINALS 2A winners v R3 winners.
Replying To WanPintWin: "That's one part of it, but the other is that the Connacht winners will be paired again with the Ulster runner up. 3 years running. The Ulster final loser is guaranteed to be much much stronger than the Leinster and Munster loser every year. One easy solution would have been to rotate the provinces for the 1st and 2nd seeds. It would have been much fairer."

This should be changed and rotated from next year. Good point in fairness.

The groups are gone next year. There going to a 'university challenge' style format, where 2 wins out of 2or3 games will advance you from the last 16 to the last 8, and knockout from there I assume.

It's as if they wanted to give us the mother of all shockers of a draw as a parting gift from this awful format.
