Byrnes committed the initial foul (which in my opinion was a free only and not even a yellow card), then the Clare lads took exception and swarmed him. That was the melee right there. Kiely said he was sent off for the foul - I dont think he knows that but is saying it as its pretty clear that if it was reviewed it could well be thrown out. Apologies, I got that from a journo who said it was only in for the new football rules.

I know Hannon was named to start the Kilkenny game, but no sign of him v Clare or Galway now. Southsham (Limerick) - Posts: 751 - 07/03/2025 09:44:44 2595174 Link 0 |
Ya that's an interesting one regarding Hannon..I wonder aswell about Donovan and possibly first time Dan has missed 2 in a row..great to see gearoid and Peter available..this game tomorrow could be as firey as last week.I'm thinking the goalkeeping position is up for grabs with dowling starting.last week wasn't all down to jg but thought winning puck outs was a huge problem..looking forward to this as Galway look to be improving every day they go out..havnt seen their team yet but would expect it to be very physical. it really does look like they are undecided on the goalkeeping slot and are giving them both opportunities And in fairness both have done well but not well enough to nail down the championshiop starter Overall, it looks a strong team, balancing bringing guys back to match fitness and exploring some options with a view to championship (e.g. Nash at wing back) The return of Sean Finn is a big deal. He was the keystone for our defense for a few years, best corner back in the country. Games seemed to slow down when he was on the ball - hasnt been the same since his cruciate so next couple of games for him are very important. Curious about DOD and Hannon - I assume they are carrying knocks Yadse (Limerick) - Posts: 78 - 07/03/2025 14:28:16 2595247 Link 0 |

good win which prob makes us safe in division 1 hurling again next year..... but we need to improve , we won against a very poor galway team. if thats what galway have to offer for the year ahead they are going nowhere. shane o brien looks a great prospect and great to see peter casey bk again. munsterchamps (Limerick) - Posts: 1134 - 09/03/2025 12:53:55 2595523 Link 0 |
Good enough showing from limerick but still so much to improve on..I'd be slightly worried with the niggles being picked up..good to see Finn and donohue looking back to themselves..great to see Coughlan,English,o Connor and o brien really putting hands up and putting pressure on established lads..dowling looked comfortable but work needed on shorter puck outs..great to see Peter back in the green jersey, huge boost going forward..I'm not getting completely carried away as it was as poor a Galway performance in a long time..hopefully another long year ahead for everyone. Galway looked like one of those teams that had just done a block of hard physical training. They looked tired and mentally not plugged in Yadse (Limerick) - Posts: 78 - 10/03/2025 01:11:33 2595653 Link 0 |
Great to see players putting in strong performances looking to be on the starting 15. Was really impressed with English and O'Connor. O'Connor looks like he could take the role of Mulcahy circa 2018. Southsham (Limerick) - Posts: 751 - 10/03/2025 09:18:08 2595662 Link 0 |

I was wondering about that and i was thinking if Cian Lynch might play that role with Gillane and SOB up top. Flanagan will have to battle hard to keep his starting place. Midfield might be English and WOD. Adam English puts up serious mileage in a match and could probably do with a break for a match or two, he has more hurling done than anyone else on the panel in terms of Limerick appearances and the Fitzgibbon. CON has done well at centre forward when played there previously. Tom Morrisey and Hego look rusty and have a lot of work to do put in to get up to speed and with Aidan O'Connor playing so well he might start in the half forward line come championship. Overall we look in good shape. the niggly injuries probably the biggest worry as they are unknowns. Was it a groin injury Hayes went off with, hopefully not but they can be hard and take time to recover from, can DOD get his calf injury sorted. Hannon was listed to play against KK but has not been listed to play in any subsequent game etc. Fitzy01 (Limerick) - Posts: 421 - 10/03/2025 11:42:41 2595713 Link 0 |
Injuries will be the worry, but apart from Nicky hopefully everyone will be fully fit for April 20th. I think a Legue Final would be good to get to as it would give more minutes to some players you mentioned, some of whom like Hannon and DOD we have not seen yet. JK is in a fantastic position to have all these lads putting the hand up. Roll on Tipp Southsham (Limerick) - Posts: 751 - 10/03/2025 16:47:41 2595807 Link 0 |

I think it depends on how training is going for the group. Some of our more established players need minutes in the legs before championship. Southsham (Limerick) - Posts: 751 - 12/03/2025 11:59:07 2596058 Link 0 |
