It seems as if you're being deliberately dramatic to illustrate your point. Obviously I want more for us but can you imagine what would happen if everybody shared your attitude? There'd be an exodus of talent and we'd never win another game. Hurling here would go extinct. You have to point to these victories in order to keep people going. You didn't really counter anything I said either. You just made fun of it. You obviously haven't the knowledge for this conversation so we'll move on. That we can agree on. So you're saying moral victories are important then? Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3258 - 11/01/2025 11:48:20 2585465 Link 0 |

No, I wouldn't have the knowledge of a losing mentality nor just being happy with moral victories. Have such a thing as standards.

I can only imagine what great craic you are at parties. Have you any knowledge of winning? People who do tend not to be so bitter. Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3258 - 11/01/2025 15:18:36 2585494 Link 0 |

I did ask him that when he started posting. He said he can be good craic OK. He knows alot about winning in fairness, at club and county level.

We played Kildare ended up winning by 6 I think. And had in house games also. We are to play Waterford and Westmeath also I think. Maybe others that I didn't hear about as well. I'm sure the management team know what they are doing and our lads will be properly prepared.

Now you have me very intrigued. I don't think diminishing the achievements of Liam Dunne is particularly useful but I'm going to drop it now. The man has 3 all stars, two Leinsters and a motm award in an all Ireland final. Ask him if he thinks beating Clare in the park was important to him or not. I've known him a long time and hurled for him with Wexford at 14, 16 and minor. I know he's proud of it. I also know the players collectively acknowledged his work from within the winning dressing room immediately after the Leinster final in 19. Anyway.... On to Cork. I'm actually quite nervous about it. They don't seem to be doing any messing and we'll likely have a very inexperienced team out. I hope they don't get a run on us early on like last year. I think from reading the posts that Countyman thinks that we haven't achieved what we should have from the position Liam Dunne left us in. I don't think he was diminishing Liam Dunnes achievements at all. Anyway as you said it's all pretty irrelevant to the here and now. I'm not nervous about the Cork game, I think they will be red hot favourites. The Cork game last year was the 1st that we started going away from what had served us well in the League. They had what was pretty much what they expected to start the championship with. "Cork began like a team hell-bent on reaching a League semi-final. Or at the very least positioning themselves as prominently as they could for a last-four berth. Wexford, on the other hand, started and continued like a team who couldn't care less about the League semi-finals. Their level of disinterest in maintaining their unbeaten start to 2024 was baffling." "On 27 minutes, Darragh Carley took possession on his own 45-metre line. There was only one Wexford player to aim at inside the opposition 45. Carley dillied and dallied. The crowd groaned impatiently. The inaction greatly irked them." This was typical of our performance that day, excerpts from the Munster GAA write up of the game. We started lads who have yet to have any more than one or 2 decent games for the county, if even that. I'm really hoping we start the next one with some new and newer lads, who might turn out to be better. I'm pretty sure Keith will have them playing with way more intensity than that day also. I'm not expecting us to win, though we have a chance all the same. What I'm really hoping to see is some new lads being brave and decisive on the ball, and working their socks off when we dont have it, and seizing their opportunity. Cork training like animals according to reports, leaving no stone unturned to win Liam McCarthythis year. It could be a very tough match on the 25th. Past hurler (None) - Posts: 842 - 12/01/2025 12:47:46 2585615 Link 0 |
