Replying To theboys:  "Lads his man played in front of the halfback line and around the middle 3rd for the majority of the game and Richie played behind the half back line!!! Call it what you like he was a spare man/sweeper/extra man what ever you want, all I'm pointing out is that he was a Free man who had the freedom to go where he liked!!! I'm also trying to point out that I think he would be more effective at midfield,I think he gives away to many frees and also 2 penalties I think he will struggle come championship on the good hurlers that he hasn't come across yet, well maybe mossy keoghan who took him for 2 goals!!! Defensively he's not good"
Didn't he play midfield a couple of times last year has been playing better in the half back line.

Replying To Viking66:  "Last year we were 2 or 3 yards of a bad penalty decision in Nowlan Park from making a Leinster Final. And/or a couple of theatrical Greg Louganis moments from TJ. Them are the small margins."
Tbf Viking after half time in that game we were very poor until probably the last 10-15 mins, we were outscored by something like 10 points I think and left ourselves with too much to do.

As much as I'd like to, I wouldnt blame TJ.

I'd blame us for the meltdown at the end of the Dublin game and the second half of the Antrim game, in the end that's what cost us.

If we're going to have any hope this year getting to a Leinster final we're going to have to come away from Salthill and Parnell Park/Croke Park with at least 2 points from those 2 games, same as 2019.

Think lawlor has been good in a lot of the games he's player regardless of where he plays . Does nt seem to.have a defined position . Good workrate and able to win his own ball takes few Scores too .
Not a natural in any position but has done well in wing back . Midfield could be his best position but at wing back in last couple games he s looked good .
Modern game is different and most lads have to be able to play in different positions or different roles not just traditional ones . Adaptability .
Still a full back is a full back and centre back is a centre back . The 2 positions prob given most thought by any manager as they hold so much influence on the game and how the team perform. Weakness here can cost you dearly . At present we don't have stand outs for either .
Anyone that plays for us lacks something they are nt perfect fit for those positions .

I agree with that.

Even in nowlan park we were really dominant for a lot of the first half but just didn't score enough in those periods.

He fell and twisted his knee for Keoghans 1st goal not much he could do about that. He should've followed Mossy the 2nd time ok. These are all learnings for him. We don't have any defensively brilliant wingbacks at the minute who are in the country, Conor Foley would be the best of them that have started there this year, Patsy Molloy might be the closest thing to it overall, but isn't getting gametime at the minute, for reasons the management see fit. We aren't at training, so we don't know.

Agree 100%, we need 8 points to reach a Leinster Final. So we need to win our home games, and get 2 points from those. Not easy.
As regards Nowlan Park I think we were poor both sides of halftime, our intensity all over the pitch dropped a fraction so we won less ball, and in particular our forwards stopped putting pressure on the Kilkenny backs coming out with the ball, so they could bring the ball forwards further, and then play better more accurate ball forwards, and the game was played mostly in our half for the middle 25 minutes of it. Harder for us to score, easier for them to score.

But this keeps happening, whatever about the dropped ball by Foley having your keeper juggling ball on his hurl in the goal only to have it flicked away is criminal.

Yet we have seen these errors before fkr years and saw fit to bring back in the said same keeper last year! What did we expect?

To be fair Lawlor was very shaky in the goal in 2023 too. Is there a better keeper in the county than Fanning lads?

He was, but it was also his first championship year as first choice. I do think he was worth another try.

But again we keep seeing the same mistakes from same players, maybe I'm being harsh but I've seen this movie before!

I've always thought fanning doesn't do the basics,he will make spectacular saves but then then drop a clanger or 2.is Byrne the dcu keeper on panel?I saw him in fitz(I know he'd be stepping up higher)he looked decent to me.

It is strange Cian Byrne from Rosslare hasnt got a look in have heard good reports on him. Is he under 20 lads?

And Considine was on the Wexford Hurling Podcast last week claiming Fanning is among the best goalies in the game and would start for any team. I never heard plamasing like it.

Byrne's the next adult keeper I think. Paddy Quigley was excellent for the minors last year. Quick reading the game, quick and accurate with the puckouts. Quick getting the ball up. If he keeps working hard he could be our best keeper since Fitzhenry.

Considine was praising the Ferns goalie Lawlor no end aswel.

I personally think the best goalie in Wexford was the Kilkenny lad Aaron Duggan but Rossiter seemed slow to give him any sort of game time.

Think Duggan is the best currently also, but he has a young family

About ten of them I would say but Dugan is the best we have.

Well that confirms and validates my decision to stop listening to them so!

He could have been persuaded if he was given more game time last year

Maybe so. He didn't say that though. Personally I'd of liked to see him get more gametime myself.
