Mick, I saw Frank a few times in NY, and what he could do with the ball would mesmerize you. It was similar to watching Mossie Fitz on the club scene in Kerry in the early 1990's (I used to specifically attend games that St.Mary's were playing in to see the man in action).

I know they say that it is the measure of greatness to perform at the highest level, and both men undoubtedly did, but to see them up close, in the flesh on the club scene was also a superb joy to behold.

top scorer in ulster history, just for reference he played 4 years less than pete the great but scored 40 more points than him

Scoring stats should not be relevant in anything other than deciding who the best freetakers are. No criticism of freetakers but it's just not a fair comparison.

Yeah Forever Maurice Fitz was special and lucky to be on the same pitch against him once .Never saw Frank McGuigan live and only saw him around 84.He was some play alright.You were lucky to see him Forever.
