Replying To Fionn:  "Yesterday was Kilkenny's 76 Leinster Senior Hurling title.
And their 21st since 1998...
4th time to win a 5 in a Row...

Is it time to take the Cats out of Leinster and make Leinster more competitive.?

Only 35,000 at a double header yesterday - are the Cats taking the Leinster as a foregone conclusion and no longer go to games until the nitty gritty side of the Championship,...

Inquiring, for many a concerned neutral GAA fan..."
We'll have to take Limerick out of Liam McCarthy too then."
;o) good point... ;o)

I guess you post in jest Fionn but in truth the very name of the Leinster hurling championship is kind of funny anyway.I mean Lwinster hurling has Galway Antrim playing and a few years back Kerry hurlers played in it also.Thats the 4 provinces playing in Leinster. Now while I know Galway and Antrim have to be accomodated somewhere it think its wrong to have them in while Laois and Offaly are not.I know Galway played in the Munster hurling champiinship years back (and never won a game im told)but at mo the Munster championship has all Munster teams.."
All Leinster teams should be allowed to play in Leinster - if we accomodate Antrim and Galway (and previously kerry), then the likes of Laois or Offaly should Not be prevented from playing in it. It is wrong to do so. Rule change required imo.

Had Wexford in it!!
It will be interesting to see if Tullamore is a sell out for Offaly v Cork?
The Offaly crowd travelled in thousands for the u20 Final because they believed they had a chance to win but will they travel in their thousands for a home game they have no chance of winning!

Galway beat Clare in the Munster hurling championship in 1961."]Yes I just googled it.Galway did beat Clare. They played in the MSHC for 11 years and won one game."]Galway beat the Munster champions 7 times in the '70s and '80's in AllIreland semis or finals. None of those wins were over Clare, Waterford, or Kerry of course."]And? Im on about the MSHC and Galway won one game over 11 years. Also they have never beaten Cork in an All Ireland final.Believe it or not I like Galway but just going on facts.Imo ive never seem a better hurler than Joe Canning and my favourite hurler of all time is John Connolly.

You might be right.I fancy Cork myself for Liam but you already predicted Limerick would nt even qualify out of Munster.

Waterford had a great opportunity to beat "them" and that would have done very nicely.

You need to be careful with no chance talk.

It seems extremely unlikely but stranger things have happened. Cork have been known to take certain opposition for granted, and Offaly known to spring a surprise.

If they can stay in the game until half time anything can happen.

I remember us being totally written off in 03. Cork were Munster champions with their eyes on Liam McCarthy, we'd just scrapped over Antrim and been hammered by Kilkenny. Ended up being the best game I ever saw. Wexford lead by 5, cork lead by 6, back level, cork lead by 3, last minute goal, all ended level.

Absolutely mad individual battles too, Darragh Ryan and Joe Deane, setanta and doc, Larry Murphy and the rock, Paul codd and Ronan Curran.

Offaly have loads of talent there and they have to come of age sometime. The Clare team that won in 13 was basically their under 21 team.

It probably won't happen for them against Cork, but I'd be wary of them over the next few years.

Offaly literally have absolutely no chance of beating Cork realistically, now Laois have a better chance v Wexford but still Wexford should have 3-4pts to spare.
Wexford should start figuring out how to beat Clare in the Quarter Finals.
Clare looked tired and flat yesterday the break should get them recharged and ready for Wexford.

The point was about Leinster finals and which team would best put it up to KK, not the round robin. Wexford have beaten KK once in the Leinster final in the past 20 years. KK are a different proposition in the final as they have shown in the past five Leinster finals. If Pádraic Mannion's hurley hadn't been pulled out of his hand in the dying seconds of last year's final Galway would have won it but that how the breaks go.

You're bringing back some memories there from '03! Deane, Setanta, Codd and Jacob were shooting the lights out that day. what an epic battle that was.

The Cats aren't particularly well supported but like any county many will travel for AISFs and AIFs. What alot of people forget is that Kilkenny is a small enough county population wise. They deserve massive respect for the consistent success they have achieved down the years."
Ah I know but they only play the small ball code. Should be made play both.

Look at kerry and how they have come on in hurling....! Fair play to them."]"Should be made play both."

Could tell us how you would force any county, amateur players, to do something they don't want to.

For information and to counter your ignorance. Kilkenny, county and clubs do 'play both."]Easy - reduce the funding to their county board - not rocket science....
1 code = half the funding."]Dublin get loads of funding for the hurling, shouldn't their best players be 'forced' to play hurling for the Dublin hurlers instead of football, considering the glut of footballers and football clubs in the capital?

Ah that was an epic clash. I've always admired Cork. We've only beaten ye once in the championship in my lifetime. Incidentally I promised my wife we'd have another child if we won (Which I was certain wouldn't happen) . I've a wonderful son now as a result.

Cork have always treated us with respect which can't always be said for muster counties.

The League saga of 93 was another great time.
