It's had it all..

Hugely entertaining and a credit to both teams

Unreal game of football, fair play to both teams. Who said the league doesn't matter. We know the Dubs can be brilliant but was hugely impressed by Derry. Not just super athletes, good football brains, great scores and some lovely kick passes. Created a bucket load of goals as well. Congrats Derry.

And just the 48 scores more than the multi billion pound centrepiece played across the water today!

Congratulations to Derry

They scored the goals today and deserved it.

I'm still hugely proud of how the Dubs never gave up, brilliant never say die commitment. What more can you ask for..

I'm satisfied with a successful league campaign and what was an absolutely brilliant final.

Great preparation

Well done to Derry, definitely deserved it today in my humble opinion.

Really good game. It had everything. I thought that the free to level in "ordinary" time was a tad generous. Nevertheless a great display from both sides. Never say die attitudes from both teams. It makes the upcoming championship a bit more interesting. Many had already dismissed it as a one horse race.

Fantastic game of football. One of the best I have attended in years. Two teams who gave it everything. I think Derry deserved it on the day but fair play to Dublin for coming back from the dead a couple of times.

Huge credit to Derry from being in a d4 final 5 years ago to now winning d1. It's obvious they have players with serious drive who's ultimately goal is to win Sam Maguire.

Surprised with the poor defending especially from Dublin but it made for a classic. Those pundits and journalist claiming league finals need to be scrapped and nobody wants to win the D/iv 1 might finally shut up now and the game is alive and well.

Wow, very happy with the win. It has been great watching this Derry team grow from the very low starting point of Division 4 and tbh we were whipping boys in Ulster for a decade or more.

To have Sam in our sights at all is something unthinkable a few years ago. I think it was important for Derry to win in Croker against one of the big guns.

Great game Dublin. It takes one hell of an effort to beat ya's

that must rank as one of the best league finals if not the best, it was a classic, it had everything, great scores, great defending, always admire the speed of thought of the players now, it is unreal, and their fitness level is off the scale, the reaction of the dublin players when they got that very late goal!!!! ud sware they had never won a thing!!! if when they meet again will be mouth watering, 3 all ireland contenders derry kerry and i think today makes dublin even hotter favourites now, hard to see them beaten twice in the one year

The one thing I learned today was if Dublin play fast direct attacking football, they are impossible to stop. They only seemed to do it when they went 3/4 behind and were able to clay it back very fast. The lateral sideways stuff is what allowed Derry to funnel back and they struggled to break through.

Well done to Derry, almost left it behind them but deserved victory.

But can we talk about Conor Lane again? I hate commenting on the performance of a ref, but he consistently gets every big decision wrong, and has done so for the last 4 or 5 years.

I think it would have been an injustice if we had won that on penos to be honest, well done!

Great game , a credit to the league . Derry derserved it almost threw it away twice but in fairness the dubs stuck in there. As a dubs supporter not too used to losing finals but that match will help in the later weeks . That derry deserve huge credit for the way they have progressed through the leagues . Belter of a match and fair to derry

If one counted the shots in the soccer match that went over the bar there may not be much in it… Two totally different sports whos scores are in no way comparable…..

There's always one, a classic and the lad moaning. He made a mistake, so did Con and Conor and Brian and Paul

Well that was one hell of a roller-coaster. It is safe to say that Derry and Dublin are the two best teams in the country, and by a fair distance. I don't think any other team could have lived with them today. The intensity, quickness of thought, wonderful scores, lightening attacks was a joy to watch. I was a bit miffed during the week at Derry being written off but we showed today we can mix it with the very best. An All Ireland is in the sights this year for sure.

Fair play to the Dubs as well. What a team they are. Whoever beats them in Championship wins Sam for me.
