Wexford Gaa have organised a good initiative Peil Istigh . It will be ran over 6 weeks in November and December for u11 players in 3 venues in the county. This will no doubt ensure they improve their football skills over the winter as they will continue to practice their skills from training at home. Would really love to see similar initiatives for hurling . We really need to ensure young lads arent leaving down their hurls for 6 months. Who has responsibility for organizing underage games in Wexford. Is it like Dublin where there is a separate CCC or is that because Dunlin is so big? wexfordwin (Wexford) - Posts: 186 - 16/10/2024 07:47:29 2575193 Link 0 |

Most secondary school kids would be training with their school teams over the winter.

Richie has been with Joe Fortune in Westmeath for a couple of years and was with the U20s for a while too. He is involved with St Annes this year.

I asked somebody "in the know" about League fixtures around two or three years ago, and seems what normally happens is that draft fixtures are sent out to counties first, but aren't intended for publication etc. Counties can then agree minor changes before the fixtures become official - e.g. switching a match from a Sunday afternoon to a Saturday evening if there's some other event happening locally on the Sunday, or if it's a weekend with home fixtures in both hurling and football, deciding if they want a double-header or to play them on separate days. Am guessing that the Examiner got hold of these draft fixtures and did a story about some of them. Would expect that fixtures will be confirmed in a couple of weeks and will be published "properly" then. Pikeman96 (Wexford) - Posts: 2621 - 06/11/2024 13:28:37 2578581 Link 0 |
