Replying To Doylerwex:  "I'm not too sure about that. We don't approve of the theatrics of a certain corner back down here"
In fairness to him his diving has decreased as his hurling has got better.

Nothing in life worse looking than the Green-Eyed Monster.

Francie bellows brilliant dramatics in 2004 that got cavans pierce McKenna sent off after 27 seconds of the start of the match, it was like he was shot and another camera angle showed that there was no connection, but probably deserved sending off for intent, but bad sport to lie down clutching his face.

Instead he rolled up the pitch and kicked goals and points for fun.

Na I think based the responses from neutrals, you seem to have embarrassed yourself again.

Equally anyone trash talking to an opponent about their family wouldnt be on my team or squad for that matter ."
Well said. Many a só called hard Man dived when they should nt have. Michael Shields of Cork is another that took an embarrassing dive.

Philip Jordan in the 03 AI final getting the cleanest player we have ever had sent off. He charged at Marsden who pushed him off in the chest - went down holding his face. Horrendous stuff which took a lot of the good out of the first AI for a super Tyrone team.

Me thinks that a certain county might be living rent free in a certain someone's head.

Mmm?

It's a Co Down thing, himself and his fellow County man Jamie Bryson.

Can't speak for anyone else in Down, but for Me Peter Canavan was the best forward I ever saw in the flesh. I remember He got butchered by Meath in '96 and played on half crippled. Think he might have dived to win a penalty against us some year, but it was not likely a game we were going to win. Let it go Germac.

Indeed, Mick. Cork are renowned for it: both codes. Another one of that team, that big long Nicholas Murphy around the middle of the field, always on the ground complaining, after a little tap here or there from Daragh O'Se. Terrible carry on altogether!

These are also my recollections of Peter Canavan. Particularly that Meath incident. I have no idea of any of the other stuff, but certainly on the big stage, if he won a foul he earned it the hard way. We on Wicklow have had some brilliant footballers over the years but seldom to get to see them on any big stage so we appreciate watching good footballers from other counties whenever we can and he was certainly as good as any I have ever looked at. Whatever about referees getting fooled by diving - they ( referees) and the authorities have to be commended for stamping out most of what can only be described as thuggery meted out to some of the more naturally gifted and classy players on opposing teams over the years.

Agreed. Peter Canavan was one of the best forwards I have ever seen play and I've seen some good ones. He was more sí Ned against than anything else and I definately would nt put him down as a diver. I d remember him as a targeted man who overcame foul play to hurt teams. A real star.

Should have been a straight Red. Hegarty swinging hurl around the place like a sword! His responsibility the hurl. They call it a strike!

a red would have been a bit harsh.
A yellow for diving and pretending to be injured would have been enough..
