The yellow in ladies is same as a black card in mens. . A yellow card and ur gone for 10 mins. (Which was until end of game in this case ) very harsh she was driving through, the Kerry player tried a frontal stop and vikki just brushed her aside. The rules are very hard on athletic strong players who have strength. No way in mens it would be a card of any sort. But at least she got the standing ovation that she so dearly deserved. Unfortunately couldn't go myself.

Totally agree.
Ref was blowing for everything.
There has to be some form of physicality allowed for the sake of the game.
Blowing for barely touching an opponent is ridiculous.
Well done Meath Ladies.
What a team with power, confidence and determination.
Best support team in the land.
Always an option running off the shoulder.

the Meath support was amazing, from rough calculations i would get hard o see more than 5,000 kerry fans there yesterday. maybe 3,000 max from Laois, and 2,000 combined for junior game, maybe 1500 wexford. thats maximum 12,000 from the other 5 counties. which would leave around 35,000 meath fans , hard to believe but it must be! the last time there were that many meath fans in croke park must be 2009 all ireland semi final. I know there were 60,000 ish at that vs kerry , and i couldnt see kerry with more than 20,000 fans at a semi final. before that it would be 2001 final. amazinf really

I just wanted to acknowledge this point. I agree. The county of meath have really get behind this team and it's great to see. It was only "the league" final but their support that day against donegal was super too. The fans really look up to them and it's great for all the youngsters in meath to aspire to this team.

It's a bit of a pity to lose so many talented players to the aflw. It's a professional sport I know and maybe a bit of a lifestyle choice but I doubt it's a better game. Their final finished last year (in gaa terms) 4 points to 2 (I'm ignoring the behinds). That's a miserable scoring after 60 minutes of football. The womans game here probably needs a few rule fixes but it's much better than 4 points to 2. Mind you if other teams fully replicate meath with their defensive structure it could ultimately hamper the game here too.
