Fantastic win. Was there and thought our support was unreal. Vicky Wall is some player. Really hope she doesn't go to the AFL. Thought Duggan made a few uncharacteristic mistakes early on but she was everywhere by full time. Kerry were just not able to compete in midfield which is where the game was won. Future is very bright indeed. Can see them go on to do what the Dublin ladies did too.

Totally deserved victory. What a fine team! That's the way to beat Kerry.

Great win for the royal ladies, indeed. They play great football. Hopefully, O' Rourke and the men's team can take a leaf out of their book. They've put some pride back in the royal jersey anyway.

A brilliant achievement and well deserved. While they could go on to win a few more, the one thing I'd say is that the chasing pack are very close.
This is a great team, but they're not utterly dominant which is a positive for the game itself.
This year Galway could have beaten them and Donegal were also very close. Donegal also probably should have won the league final, but were very wasteful on the day.
There's a batch of teams, Meath, Dublin, Cork, Kerry, Galway, Mayo, Donegal and Armagh who must all believe they can win the All-Ireland.
That's a very healthy state of play.

Was waiting for a post like that. You could just as easily say that they kerry ladies should have taken a leaf out of the mens book.
Respectfully, the meath ladies don't have to compete against Clifford, Walsh and o Callaghan.

Agree with that. And with both vikki and orlagh leaving it will be wide open next year.

Well wanpintwin, yeah would agree with you Donegal and Galway pushed them all the way and only a kick of the ball in it at the end.But they have some belief,no one gave them a chance vDublin last year and they put in a brillant display and this year as reigning champions it was always going to be harder.Yesterday was their best display of the year. They went 1-2 down after 7mins but didnt panic and once they took the lead they never let it go.Kerry will learn alot from yesterday they have some very good players and sure will be back at it next year.As for Meath losing 2 of their best players to Aussie rules, another one or two ate going travelling I believe and some of the backroom management are stepping away so that might well being them back to the pack if you know what I mean. What this team have done is incredible losing to Cork by 40 points not to long ago to win 2 senior and intermediate in the last three years plus division 1,2,3 league titles is some going. They are credit to the game and of course the county.

Congrats to Meath , never easy to win one never mind two in a row.
On a different note , not to be overly negative I thought the ref was very poor, some of the frees were very poor calls. Great attendance,

Congratulations to Meath ladies on a great win. It must be a manager's dream when the starting 15 plus subs collectively put in a powerful performance. Good luck to the two girls going to Australia, don't stay too long.

Ultimately meath were a good bit a head. Kerry only score two points in the second and didn't score for the last 25 minutes. If meath were more disciplined in some of their kicking options they could have added more points. Meath have powerful athletic runners coming from all angles, are generally good on their own kick outs and put a very decent press on the opposition kick out.

The are very defensive too. They just all sprint back to clog up the scoring zone for the opposition and it makes them almost impossible to breakdown. They turn you over and off they go hard. They are though being kind of being allowed to play the game on their terms. It's perhaps grand when the opposition don't set up to counter that but it's likely teams will in the future and you'll end up with some of the very cagey boring matches like happens in the men's game. It could be even worse as the scoring zone in smaller in womans football.

Agree with the ref. Very poor. And inconsistent.

Congratulations to Meath yesterday. I was at game cheering on my beloved Kingdom but fair play to Meath. Kerry got a wonderful start but Meath came back brilliantly and won playing fantastic football. A learning curve for Kerry but well done Meath. Meath are a truly great team.

I was at the game and never got to see it on TV, why did Vicky Wall have to go off?, the lady beside me said it is she was not red carded but was sent off for a time, sounded similar to a black card. Is there a black card under LGFA rules?.

Well done Meath. Great achievement to win two Irelands in a row.

As a neutral I do not criticising a referee but I though that it was the worst performance I have seen in an All Ireland Final.
1. A huge amount of wrong calls. The player in possession was often fouled when trying to break the tackle but the free was often given the other way.
2. Did not let the game flow at all.
3. Very inconsistent throughout the game.
4. Pulled back play on several occasions when the player had broken the tackle and did not play the advantage rule which allowed the other team to re-set. (The best referees are not in the spotlight all the time)
5. I felt that the final handpass for Meaths second goal was clearly thrown and missed by the referee. In fairness it was difficult for the referee to see it from behind, but both umpires should have seen it and informed the referee. (Would not really blame the referee for this one!)

The best team won, but the players and both management teams deserve better after the effort that they have put in.

There's no black card in LGFA, but a yellow is a sin bin.
