Mayo Vs Kerry

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Strange and dull game considering Mayo were involved. Don't know if it was just because of how hectic the game beforehand was or not.

Mayo have missed the boat, last years final was a disaster for them. Will need to start from scratch again. They'll no doubt be back again in a few years.

Kerry and Dublin will be interesting. Have to fancy the winner to go all the way!

Well done to Kerry and best of luck for the remainder for the championship. I'm glad we were out out of our misery.
Disgraceful 2nd half…

Brolly embarrassed himself with his bias article talking Derry up after beating a Div 2 team and the naïve fans bought it hook line and sinker..
Had Mayo, Kerry, Dublin-Galway started blowing their triumphant after beating Clare they would be vilified for it by the media...
That was really small-time by both brolly and the fans...

Fully agree. Thank god we are out. If we had been drawn on the other side we might have stumbled on before an inevitable beating.

I think it was McStay that said Mayo looked like they were running on fumes and I thought it really showed yesterday.

As for Kerry - congratulations although I doubt this game will live long in the memory

It might not be fashionable to say it but Kerry were poor.
They need to improve massively to beat Dublin if Con is playing.

Mayo kicked themselves out of that game - they weren't beaten by a better team - just a good team that knows how to take their scores.

A very open all ireland. No way in hell Derry will win it though.

That is it in a nutshell. The team with the most scores wins. Does not matter if you were brilliant or poor.

Agreed.

Mayo created 27 scoring chances vs Kerry's 22.

It was a very weird game and really should have been much tighter if it wasn't for terrible shooting.

I don't know why Kerry are strong favourites vs Dublin.

Dublin were awful against a poor Cork team. Mayo would have given us a much harder game and maybe even taken us. Kerry have more gears and I wouldn't rule out the conditions impacting their game yesterday. Pound for pound, they have stronger scoring capability than Dublin and in better conditions I think they could exploit that Dublin full back line. Clifford is also unmarkable. As great and all as Johnny, Fitzy and Davey have been in the past, you need an extra man on Clifford, one in front and one behind. You then only have to worry about the other 5 Kerry forwards. Kerry are still favourites. Dublin badly need Con and James back.

Kerry looked like a team who knew that they could go up a gear if they wanted, that being said it was quite a subdued atmosphere up there yesterday after the galway armagh game.
Still though Id make Dublin warm favourites again kerry in 2 weeks.

James Horan gone today. Mayo were poor yesterday. Kerry are no big shakes. I honestly cannot see them beating Dublin. Its fair to see that the winners this year could come from the other semi final and being a neutral I would really love to see that happen. Galway have had the toughest quarter final by far.
