Clare VS Wexford

This one is on live on TG4 which is great news

Hope Wexford can put in a performance like they did vs Limerick and we can put the Dublin game out of our minds

Difficult assignment Clare at home. If ye pull it off ye are on a roll and just what is needed for confidence.

Clare are a decent side.

Our championship record against them is poor but league is quite good.

I'd expect a serious response from them after last week but they are also without some key players.

That being said, we are still without Shaun Murphy, chin, k Foley and roc.

If we reach the same levels as the limerick game and begin to sort out the wides I'd be hopeful of a result here.

If we were to win the pressure is off for the league really.

Be nice get to a league final wouldn't it. 1973 a long time since won one.

Are Foley and ROC definitely out? Yes a win should see relegation fears ruled out but a win might put us in the mix for the league also. In the League generally home advantage is a big advantage so while I'd be hopeful of a performance, that wont necessarily mean we will win. Also the Clare lads wont have the added incentive of getting 1 over 1 of their own this year it will be interesting to see what effect this has- if any.

Expect to see a big performance from Clare on their home patch. There's also history between the two teams over the last few years even allowing for Davy's exit. Even though Clare are down a good few starters particularly in the forwards I think wexford are going to have to hurl really well to get a result in Ennis. The challenge is to get consistent performances from week to week as that's what's going to be needed in the Leinster championship

Any team news yet lads as regards injuries clearing up?

I'd expect Clare to shade this one. wexford were vry impressive last week but that kind of scoring probably wont win another game this year - albeit they were up against a seriously strong back line to be fair. I just think there will be a backlash from Clare.

Limerick must be screwed so with that kind of scoring also.

Some the injuries will be a long time before they are cleared up unfortunately.

Chin medium term and Murphy is long term I heard. ROC and Kevin maybe back this weekend. Shane Reck came on as a sub for ITC in the Fitzgibbon. But you know yourself lads wouldnt want to tell us too much!

Think the first one could be a bit more than medium term even.

Gale force wind would've made it feel like both teams were hurling in a wind tunnel. Both teams hit 32 wides between them . Combination of conditions and defences being on top led to the low scoring. Entertaining game nonetheless .

Hope hes back fully fit for the championship. I'd be guessing he wouldn't have been made captain if he was doubtful for that.

Surprised Devitt didnt feature the last day too as he has been good all year

My team for Clare match would be

Fanning
Donohue Ryan Hanlon
D Reck P Foley J O Connor
Dee C Flood (if fit)
O Foley Rory O Connor K Foley
Dwyer Mac Dunbar

Would like to see Mcguckin get a start. Maybe put Kevin Foley midfield if fit. Or put Mcguckin in for ROC if hes not 100%. Would rather not rush ROC back if not fully fit.
