G'wan the Kingdom! Only January obviously but full credit to the Kerry hurlers for claiming the scalp of the Premier County.

What a result for the Kerry hurlers. At this rate they might win an All-Ireland before the footballers!

Fair play to the Kerry hurlers. Great result and hopefully a shot in the arm to their underage set up. Great to get a win for them over a top 6 team.

Or better still, they might be allowed to hurl in Munster.

I know very little about hurling, but what a surprise. Hope for the Rossie hurlers yet.

;o)

Super result for the Kerry Hurlers.
In fairness they have put a huge effort down there into the small ball game.
Fair play, and some fine hurlers also. Massive improvements...

Pity Kilkenny couldn't put a similar effort in with their footballers......!

The result marked Kerry's first-ever senior hurling win over Tipperary! A win to be savoured, no matter the month or competition!

That is an absolutely absurd comment.

Kerry hurlers will never be admitted to the top table of Munster hurling. Snobbery will continue to ensure this. Kerry will have to progress through the Rest of Ireland (aka Leinster) championship and win the All Ireland championship before they could even be considered worthy of being discussed for inclusion in Munster.

Well done to your hurlers.

Conway is one of the top forwards in the country and great to see Shane Nolan still out there.

Looking forward to some close battles with Kerry later in the year.

What a load of ill informed rubbish. Kerry left the Munster Championship themselves and everyone would love to see them back. Yes they will need to win Joe Mc to do that but they were never pushed out.

Exactly. Back in the early 90s they even beat Waterford in the championship.

Great result. Bit of perspective though. It's the depths of winter in a glorified friendly against a leaden legged 3rd string team.

Win the Joe McDonagh and win a play-off with the last place Munster team

Yes they did. They also had some notable league victories in that time. They beat Offaly who were AI champions.

Yesterday was a good victory. They have fine hurlers. Always had. However, they don't enough of them. There is no hurling in West Kerry or Mid Kerry. As far as I know, the South Kerry team has disbanded meaning no hurling there either. I think there is one team in East Kerry (maybe two -do Dr Crokes still field a hurling team) and two in the Kenmare District. There is one very strong area north of Tralee. This has been strong for a long time. However, since the 1990s, there's not been a massive upsurge in playing numbers.

For a real breakthrough, this needs to happen. Yesterday was very good but not a sign that they are here as a hurling force

It may not be an All-Ireland or Munster championship but like '93 when they beat an up and coming star studded Waterford team the elation they must feel is tremendous. No begrudgary only encouragement to make this a building block, not just only a memory.
