There is no All Ireland Groups this year, its 8 losing finalists v 8 other All Ireland teams, with winners going into winners section and losers playing each other(losers of that game are out) 8 Provincial finalists get home advantage in that first round.

You must not know that Paul O'Connor is the manager of the 20s not Neil McAdam

And you mustn't know what the players are saying. As I said, serious turnaround in training the last two weeks

Darren Hughes is making all the calls, that's directly from a players mouth who has credited him with the turnaround

Yous are all expert's aren't yous. Paul O'Connor is making the calls although there is big influence from Hughes and McAdam. But final say comes from the manager O'connor

Good to see Mooney and Byrne back and mccarthy and lavelle on bench not so good to see Wylie and Mohan missing and mcenespie also a huge player for us. Looks like Mohan just cant get a run of fitness going which is worrying for his career as we haven't seen the best of him in a monaghan jersey in a long time. Its v hard to see how this one goes. We rarely seem to perform v Cavan even going back to the team of the 10s and they usually bring a performance. So missing so many names and being written off by the pundits may spark us. Clones has not been a happy hunting ground for monaghan in terms of performance in a long time so long overdue a performance there but its hard to see it coming with that side will need everyone on it for the full 70 minutes. seanie08 (Monaghan) - Posts: 1988 - 17/04/2026 15:29:57 2666951 Link 0 |

Great to a revived Monaghan team named for Sunday. Hopefully we can get a strong win over the neighbours who surely have their tails up. Good mix of both experience and youth, this team will only get stronger next year with the introduction of brion sherry who would be a great burst of energy for the county. not to say we cant make a final this year and push on. I missed that Wylie was on the team. I just expect him to be there. He a big loss too. You need that experience and reliability.

Yes correct, "big influence" from Darren and Neil. Paul books buses and names the team

Why wouldnt we give Blayney credit, Malone has built the countys underage and what a job he done. He should be over 20s but is needed with seniors.

Nothing to do with what club he is, it's facts that are well known at this stage.

Clearly havent got much of a clue about whats going on. Paul managing blayney seniors as well as the county u20s. The man has the double the workload of the rest and is steering the ship very well.

Nice win today against the noisey neighbours. We owed them one. Lots of positives and a few negatives but a good championship win. 222 (UK) - Posts: 927 - 19/04/2026 17:30:49 2667255 Link 0 |

Its funny we have had stronger sides who didnt show up v Cavan but the lads today knew they couldn't afford to be complacent and played out of their skins especially in first half. Cavan did cut us open for the goals and missed chances for more which is a big warning sign for Derry but the team deserve a well done on good performance today well deserved win seanie08 (Monaghan) - Posts: 1988 - 19/04/2026 18:46:05 2667294 Link 1 |
