Interesting weekend. If Clontibret beat Inniskeen and Scotstown beat Donaghmpyne then Scotstown could finish top of the group after the last round of games. Inniskeen could even finish 3rd..

John Mc Entee would know everything about the clontibret players could only see the game going one way

Was in Clontibret for the Inniskeen v Clontibret game. Inniskeen look very very impressive. Their tails are up big time. They brought it all to Clontibret and played with serious intensity. Discipline was probably an issue for them, they played on the edge, hit hard and tackling in bunches. Young fit and physical team, be good to see how they finish the year now.

Lavelle saw red for Clontibret but he did chance his luck too many times. Thought Woods was lucky to stay on the field also. Overall the game was played in good spirits, was a dead rubber to an extent as both teams knew they were safe but Inniskeen are now 4/4 which is serious going. I believe this could be the first team to do that since the round robin Champo has started. Credit must go to them. They will await a component in the semi finals now and they will make he most of the break they get.

In the other group Corduff can still make top I believe. They are in the limelight again I see. That point yesterday was very valuable to them. In my opinion it will be Corduff, Aughnamullen playing Clontibret, Scotstown. Which will be two good contests. All still to play for.

Anyone else at games all weekend with any info/opinions on them?

Going into the last round of fixtures in the groups next weekend have Monaghan learned from other counties mistakes and informed clubs whether they will be using the new or old system for separating a 3/4 way tie.

Inniskeen looking good for it at the minute, League Final to play, 8/8 points in Championship this year , 7/8 points last year, so all the time improving. Mc Entee and Kiernan cant be faulted with there approach.
Feel like the Clontibret v Scotstown game is a bit of a nothing game next week, Don't think either team will have a preference to who they meet on the other side so finishing position is irrelevant. Maybe going forward 2nd place getting home advantage for the Quarter final might make for bit more of an incentive to win.
On the other group, simply but - I just dont know, anything can happen and would not like to call it, I think Latton are the best footballing team so would like to see them get the semi spot.
Either way some great games to come

Jeez there isn't much love for the harps on this forum, don't think they have been tipped to win a game by a single person and yet they are top of their group.

New management that came in half way through season have really turned things around.

On a side note was at the game last week and my god Stephen Mooney is some player would be surprised if he doesn't make an impact at county level next year.

Corduff (---)v(---)Scotstown/Aug.
Inniskeen (---)v(---)Latton/Clonto.

When all is said and done I think the safe money is on Scotstown V Inniskeen Championship Final.
And potentially Scotstown winning what could be there nicest one yet considering they have had there doubters this year.

Or is there an upset on the cards at quarter/semi's

I think it would be safe to say Aughnamullen and Corduff won't beat Scotstown. They have both had brilliant years and fair play to them. They have shown up some of the more seasoned Senior teams in the county this year but I think this will be the end of the road for both of them. Scotstown are starting to pick up a few gears in the last few weeks so I think they will blitz both of them.

Other side of the draw is tougher to call. I think any of Latton, Clontibret or Inniskeen could make the final on their day but you would have to go with Inniskeen given how they have been playing this year. The 4 week break for them won't do their momentum any favours. Scotstown Inniskeen would make a great north vs south of the county final.

Scotstown have doubters…? Scotstown are the shortest priced favourites to win a club football championship in the entire country according to the bookies.
They've won 8 of the last 11 championships and now they've somehow been allowed to transfer in McCarron.. Who in the right mind is doubting Scotstown winning Monaghan?! Anything less than an Ulster club final will be a seriously disappointing year after their 2 new signings in the Winter transfer window.

I'd love to see who the doubters where.. In the last 10 county finals and picking from 5 adult teams and then when they poached jack of Currin it only made them even hotter favourites.. anything less than a county title and a serious crack at ulster would and will be a complete embarrassment and an ultimate miserable failure...
