That fixture change will surely make Sky News such is its significance. Maybe either club requested it or prob Brendan Shaw did it just for the crack.

I'm sure it's significant to the two Shamrocks lads I was talking to who had organised to get off work at 3.30pm to be in Ballymore for 4 only to have to change that again and get off two hours earlier.. and lose two more hours pay with it. But no Claret you're dead right no significance.

Will Ger Egan be 100% for the Caulry game on Saturday?

Athlone did the same at u15 level this year as they didn't field in 2 games which in the rules states the team would be put out of the competition, they did this because it suited them the way the fixtures were landing and getting a preferred draw.

The same thing happened to kilbeggan at u13 who are a small club and they were chucked out, a town the size of athlone not fielding is a shambles and the county board need to punish this.

Totally agree. The other teams need to put in an objection which under the competition rules would have to win

Why a great result for the county? I think it would be better to see a new team in the 1/2 final. T.pass repeatedly getting to 1/2 F and Finals and loosing them. A change would of being better for the county. Methinks.

Please explain what you mean for the "County "

I hope that you're not casting aspersions against the Caulry club. I have been involved in Westmeath going back to the 1950 s. As far as I am concerned Caulry is one of the most respected clubs in the county.

Surprise win for Garrycastle in the junior 1 quarter final over St Josephs.
Caulry will be disappointed but will have to acknowledge the best team won in the end.
Caulry played most of the football in the first half while Tyrellspass were sluggish.
Black card for Caulry mid way in 1st half broke their momentum and instead of being well ahead at the break, went in all square. McNicholas goal came at a critical time and Egan who was very quiet early on, came out the field a bit more but he's obviously not 100% fit. Young Flanagan (any relation to Martin ?) who came on at half time made a big impact around the middle. They will have to improve a fair bit to trouble The Downs but any team with Quinn, Gonoud, Slevin, Harte, Egan, McNicholas etc has a chance.

If there's anything worse than getting to semi-finals and finals and losing them it's NOT getting to semi-finals and finals and losing them. For a small rural club Tpass deserve great credit for their consistency over so many years.

Is that because the captain of the county is from there and he'll get a few months rest or something? Non sensical stuff from you once again Motte - you must have a very exciting life to be on here posting bitter comments about other clubs constantly, I hope your own club has a good year.

That aside, yesterday's game was a good display of football fair play to both sides, Tyrrellspass will have a right good chance against The Downs and I would expect that to go right down to the wire. Loman's championship to lose still for me.

Tubberclair impressive yesterday in quarter final considering they were down to 14 early on. Manager also sent off, disappointing last few weeks for Castledaly with four successive championship defeats.,
