Replying To TrueBlue35:  "Yeah not overly encouraged tbh unless the best Maor Uisce in the game makes a return in some sort of capacity/advisrory role. Not writing off Bastick and Rock by any stretch but not sure either have much experience in a coaching capacity. Time will tell but would like an experienced head in there too!"
Moyna will join Ger but he needs a hell of a lot more than those 3...

Declan had his backroom team ready to go from what I was told. JC would have been excellent.

D'arcy was definitely my preferred candidate anyway but Ger has it now so will row in behind him. Will likely come out over time the apparent shafting D'arcy got.

Replying To Fionn:  "Results from the weekend:-

Barróg 5-24 beat CC 2-14
Lucan 2-24 beat Judes 0-15
Fianna 2-21 beat Boden 1-21

Crokes 0-25 beat Vinnies 1-14
Whitehall 2-19 beat Plunkett's 2-18
Cuala 0-22 beat Brigid's 0-21

The NF v Boden and Cuala v Brigid's were crackers of games.
Boden let an early lead slip, although NF looked the stronger throughout and Brigid's very unlucky to lose to Cuala.
Plunkett's put up a hell of a fight v Whitehall.
Whilst Crokes and Lucan flexed their muscles."
I have to say I have been very impressed with Brigid's so far.

The big hitters were always going to be there or there abouts - Cuala, Crokes, Na Fianna, Lucan, Boden.

But I would like to see Brigid's make the latter stages of the Dublin SHC.

Why is it "apparent" that Declan was shafted?

I agree Joe. Was Dec shafted or did he shaft himself? I presume he on very good money with Leinster so maybe that was an issue with DCB.Dublin dont pay our managers. There are rumours and innuendo but no one seems to know the full story

I think Brigids will have a big say this year.

The very best to Ger Brennan and his backroom team
I think there's exciting times on the way for Dublin GAA, it's not going to be easy and they are back in the pack again, let's see if they can improve.
First things first,
Let's adapt to the new rules a lot better, let's get a bit of fire in the belly again, and let's offensively kick off the shackles a bit, the new rules are there to benefit teams wanting to score.
The League will be difficult, let's try and stay up and then go fully at Leinster and hopefully get a bit of revenge against the old smelly foes.

Ah a bit rough there bud.Its good to see Meath back challenging and while Im Looking forward to playing them next year if we meet I think we will be ready for them. They might be our foes but calling them smelly is a bit rough. Half of Meath are Dubs tbh.

There's an article in the Mirror that says that the Leinster gig is very much a part time job and that he fits it in around the day job (building). I was under the impression it was more a full time gig but either way he'd have had to give it up... he couldn't do both jobs in tandem and I doubt it was a money issue to be honest.
