Anyone know what has happened to Alex Considine from Crokes? He was excellent in Dublin championship. I know he got a red in final but he doesn't seem to be in plans at moment? Was one of lads I'd thought be nailed on for a call up from Donoghue.

That answers that! Smart move I reckon...

Brilliant goal and was central to the comeback. In fairness to Ronán he answered a lot of his critics today. Best game he's had for years when he moved out. Similar for Whitley. Great performance against a great team.

Bad news is that Darragh Butler who had a stormer yesterday in full back line is off to Austraiia.

Some great performances, Crokes left themselves too much to do after half time. People can point to the goal but they lost it up until the last 5 minutes of the first half.
Alex Considine is what age Barney?

Mid 20s I'd say. He did play once or twice under Kenny in league or Walsh cup. I don't really remember him but he's been very good for Crokes and would make a good addition to full forward line with another fast big man in there and a bit of pace further out too,

I'd say Donoghue will include him.

Donoghue will be very thorough Barney. Hopefully he will be able to get lads to commit to Senior intercounty up there.

We can only hope. I'm afraid Dublin are a good bit off the pace at the moment so it will be interesting to see what Donoghue does. The individual parts are there, i think, but just haven't gelled. The meek way they have exited championship since Anthony's days is worrying.

I don't buy into the psychology thing much. Too predictable and that makes any team easy prey for the top teams when they are reaching their peak. Dublin were no fitter nor match fit at the end of the championship than they had been in January or February. Sad to say and Waterford may have had similar curve - or lack of curve! - but it's the cold reality.

I'd be happy enough if Donoghue had a good stab at the league as a target for his first year. Take at least that and a good trawl of likely players before they are in position to challenge the big boys, as in any of the top six or seven in a knockout game in Summer.

Got two for the smallies for Christmas.
I'm still in the ol 95 Arnotts one meself, the original!"
A couple of white/sky blue stripes down the sleeves would have finished it off nicely.
It's not bad, better than the last one.
O'Neills decision making at times is hard to understand, I saw the jersey on a social media post and a large amount of Dub supporters brought up that stripes down the sleeves would have made it.
For me any it's another O'Neills half ***** attempt.

I think with so many games in a short period Kenny and Cahill got it wrong. You can't keep a peak going for that many high intensity games with amateur players.
Dublin looked awesome in the Walsh Cup final but started looking a bit faded as the League went on and while they won in Wexford Park in the Round Robin that was probably their AI final. They looked very ordinary after that. Couldn't step it up another gear because they had nothing left.
Likewise Waterford who looked unstoppable after the League semi and final. Remember Derek Mcgrath on TSG?!!! But no kick left when it really mattered.

Delighted for all the Dublin supporters with the luck of the draw in the National League. Away trips to three cities; Derry, Cork and Limerick. It should mean that it will be easier for Joxer and the lads to organise a few weekends away in the New Year. It might have more difficult to justify weekend trips away in Ardee, Newbridge and Navan.
(Booking a hotel in advance might even make a good Christmas present!)

there will be more Dublin supporters at all of those games than the ones in Navan and Newbridge, both of which will be sold out.

What's a good year for Dublin? Promotion, Leinster and a shout at Sam? They won't be far away. Some very good players. A good bit behind Kerry, Galway and Tyrone I think.

The Dubs have home games against Meath, Kildare, Louth. The slad was that it would be hard for "the lads" to justify a weekend away in Navan, Newbridge and Ardee (just down the road!) if they happened to be home games. They can now look forward to weekend away trips to Derry, Cork & Limerick

Navan, apologies. I thought they were away to Kildare.

Good start to the Donoghue era. Lots of new faces who played well, and a few of the older lads like the two Cians added a bit of experience. Great to see Considine come on later. He has to be a key part of any plan. Flanagan too from Barrog adds more potential up front and his free taking was excellent. Missed maybe two. They've obviously done a fair bit of work. How the close passing inside our own 40 works out later on remains to be seen, but good to see a bit of new thinking at least.

Johnny Cooper.

Simple as this ..

Thank you for your great efforts in blue and the life long happy memories you gave to many a Dub fan.

A pleasure to support and watch you in full flight with ball in hand.

You also put your head where others wouldn't put their foot.

A great baller and you earned every single one of those gold medals.

All the best Captain, see you around the area
