When I heard that the football secretary wasn't aware of a players meeting or vote it was always going to be the case that Joyce would not be challenged by this spineless football committee. No wonder we are in the mess we are in and the laughing stock of all other counties. Im not very familiar with the rumour mill tbh. What exactly is it that the players have a problem with regarding PJ? Is it simply that results aren't good enough (in which case some players need to sack themselves), or is it his management style /personality etc? I'm sure they aren't thrilled with the results either but that's not the issue. Last 10 minutes of real time in the monaghan game this year will tell you all you need to know about PJ. A lot will be told when they go back training in 6-8 weeks the ones who don't go back prob be a bigger talking point than the ones who are there , it's still hard believe that Padraig will still be manger after 2 brutal years of performance and results and so many players pulling out and some of players that came in not even good club players ,,unfortunately I for one can't see Galway doing anything AGAIN next year unless Padraig changes his ways big time ,?time will tell Kickitout (Galway) - Posts: 1052 - 06/10/2021 17:31:17 2384644 Link

You can write off 2022 once and for all. Another year with the Three Amigos will set us further back and quite possibly undo all of the groundwork and progress achieved by Kevin Walsh. And for what? The notion of lovely football? The memory of those few wins in the League before the pandemic? The ludicrous hope that somehow just somehow, they'll bring it all together and beat a county that isn't named Roscommon? We are going to get exactly what we deserve. The cheerleaders who hyped this appointment 2 years ago are extremely quiet now. Maybe it was too much to hope for some sort of leadership from the county board. And there's people who have actually dismissed our connacht final wins under kevin because we weren't playing lovely football .... we haven't won connacht since 2008 according to them . They actually posted on the forum saying we can dismiss them. The mind boggles at their thinking Can we tell Donegal to hand back their All Ireland medals. Look, if you were a club manager and the senior players in the club contacted the chairman to express their dissatisfaction with you, questioning your management style, your inability to coach the team and some players had already walked away and went so far to have a vote, you would be out of a job, pronto. So when the CB sat down with this manager and wouldn't challenge him with the issues outlined above, that all the dogs in the street are aware of, pretending not to know, all live issues with our county team, then there was going to be no change. Inclined to agree. He was getting cleaned but stood tall (lol) with the game in the melting pot. 2 very average teams.
