Which umpire was it? Wasnt at the game myself but from what I heard the referee was almost left with no choice but to send off who he did before the start of the second half, rumours he was also assaulted himself? Fulham have done themselves no favours at all with their carry on on twitter either one tweet remarking how they're playing at Kiernan's level and the referee has lost it, certainly not going to win you many friends making comments like that online!

But I think there are things needing to be talked about. 1 offical from the loosing team has been continually been suspended for his behaviour. He continually ignores his ban and is on the side line and nothing is ever done. ifindoubt (Donegal) - Posts: 133 - 19/10/2021 10:48:19 2386207 Link 0 |
Behind the goals at the clubhouse for the fourth red. The reds at HT must have been somewhat justified or else he was laying down a big marker but as said it probably left himself open for the second half with blacks etc. For a club who've won two championships on the back of some questionable refereeing I think Fulham just need to take their oil this time. The entire first half pressure was being put on the officials from the line and some in the stands, fair play to Kiernans management who didn't get involved in that nonsense. Don't think there was any assault. Probably got off very quick! As said the board are going to have to come down hard on this nonsense. Happens at a lot of games. Some people get a bit carried away which is fair enough but some of what you see here at times is just simply ridiculous and pathetic. whoareya (Donegal) - Posts: 78 - 19/10/2021 10:53:07 2386208 Link 1 |
Neither team can claim to be holier than thou on the day and red cards at half time are a justified talking point. I don't think anyone apart from the referee and his assistants is able to explain the reds - we have to assume that was the correct decision. The only point on the red cards is that some of the players on both side who got red carded would be some of the most unlikely characters you'd associate with a scrap in the tunnel. It was either very out of character for them or they were picked out wrongly in the mass of bodies. I stand to be corrected but im not so sure the ref picked out the true culprits. fancyaride (Mayo) - Posts: 182 - 19/10/2021 13:16:29 2386247 Link 1 |

I don't think London Senior champions enter Connacht this year

How are Sean Treacy's getting on in London hurling? Moyle (Tipperary) - Posts: 89 - 20/10/2021 15:06:22 2386460 Link 0 |
I stand corrected. Thought London was out of Connacht for another year. Think I've got confused with inter county.

Think generally speaking they do struggle for numbers. But also like most clubs its attracting the quality and then keeping the quality players to build on. That being said they held their own back at senior this year

not the force they were, had been struggling to retain senior status for a few years, dropped down to intermediate. Seemed to be rebuilding well and won intermediate last year. Senior this year, drew won and lost five, were competitive in all their games, down intermediate with Kilburn next year.

How many clubs playing Intermediate next year so?

Thats up in the air at the moment as always, not sure what the ruling will be on KIlburn having two teams as their B team plays in the intermediate too. Traceys and Kilburn down, fulham in intermediate too along with kilburn, gabs and emmetts B teams

Don't forget Cú Chulainns. Yeah be interesting to see what happens with Kilburn B. To be honest, I don't think they'll try and field two teams anyway. Seem to be struggling a bit at the moment as a club. They started youth hurling a few years ago but that has all but stalled. Hopefully they can re-group. Treaceys in theory should have the pick of South London! Will be tough getting out of Intermediate next year with Fulham and Kilburn both there London125 (UK) - Posts: 55 - 21/10/2021 15:26:13 2386668 Link 0 |
Was at the game at the weekend and even up and until the half time whistle was a really competitive game. I think the reds post HT and the blacks in the second half did skew the game significantly. I think had fulham had their full quota they would have won however that very much a 'if your granny had ba77s she'd be your granda' scenario. Well done to Kiernan's and good luck going into Connacht. Looks to be a really well run club and going places in the future. Jaybloggs (UK) - Posts: 37 - 21/10/2021 15:45:42 2386673 Link 0 |
I was looking at their planning permission for a clubhouse in Barnet, looks nice, will be another big boost to them if they get that.
