Yesterday's team had 4 players that made their debut this year, and one of them was the keeper who has been very prominent for Coolera over the years. I didn't hear the mgt after the game but if they are coming up with excuses of 11 debutants this year it's very poor
. Down will put out their strongest team so they can wrap up promotion. At the moment 3 teams could finish on 10 points.
All we can hope is that Clare get beaten the next day so that they have nothing to play for in sligo and Westmeath beat Limerick. With 2 games to go it's not good to be looking for favours.

Can someone name the 11 players who made their league debut this year.
Dessie mentioned Daire O'Boyle but I'm pretty sure he played last year.

The management have gone with the policy of blooding new players from successful underage teams. Injuries to McGuiness, Carribine, Cummins, OConnor and their reluctance to select McNamara, Kilcoyne have reduced their options. However I think this is the correct policy. Many of these players should have got game time last year but the previous manager didnt trust them. Which is why there are so many debutants this season. Obviously this policy has put our division 3 status in doubt but in the long term I believe this will be proven to he the correct policy.
