Just as well I didn't go to the bookies. Tourlestrane win was the only one I called right and by looks of it they just about it won it. Two weeks down and already it looks like Tourlestrane and Marys are semi finalists. In intermediate Easkey and Molaise are king pins and the Junior threw up a surprise in Tourlestrane drawing and Owenmore losing….more of this drama please!

I did very well. I think I got 7 correct out of 8 predictions. Ballymote let me down. I thought they might be better than Geevagh. Any team that has won both games is certainly looking at a top 2 finish and semi finals. Equally any team without a point after 2 games need to get into survival mode because relegation semi final is very close. St. Farnans are the team I feel sorry for. Two tough games in the championship, 2 very good performances but no point on the board. Other big talking point is the amount of goals that Tourlestrane are leaking. 5 goals in 2 games.Without delving into the archives I doubt if they conceded 5 goals in any of the years they won a championship before.

I criticised the media coverage last week but in fairness was great to see several pages of reports in the Champion today, so credit where credit is due. Quiet weekend ahead bar a few junior bs but no doubt there'll be plenty of work going into the teams to try and rescue their hopes in round 3.

This is probably the do or die weekend of the championship for clubs. Looking forward to the games but trying to work out if the €15 weekend pass is much use to me this weekend given the timing of the games.

Anyways here goes the predictions
Senior:
Calry to beat Tubber, Shamrock Gaels to beat Curry.
Farnans to beat Mullinabreena and Coolera to beat Drumcliffe. Meaning it's end of the road for Curry, Mullinabreena and Drumcliffe if I'm correct???

Intermediate:
Harps to work Geevagh, Molaise to beat Pats.
Easkey to be Castleconnor, Bunninadden to beat Enniscrone. Eastern Harps Geevagh game is best of the weekend I think as the battle for second is that group is interesting.

Junior:
Owenmore to get back on the road by beating Michael's, Cloonacool to beat Tourlestrane.
The group of second teams anything can happen given there was only a point in it in both for round 1. I'll go with Shamrock Gaels win and draw in other one.

Very good championship this far.
I will go for Tourlestrane, Shamrock Gaels,St Mary's and Farnans
In the intermediate I think the Bunnies, Eastern Harps, St.Pats and Enniscrone .
Very tight to call second place in most groups of intermediate and very hard to call first and second place in the Senior.

Do any of you believe that if Sligo and Leitrim amalgamated at senior level that they'd win Connaught?

Let's give the new amalgamation the name "Slí-trim"; slí, meaning way from Gaelic and 'trim' meaning in good shape; the way to be fit, and straight away you've already a psychological advantage over boring names like Galway, Mayo and the common Ros.

Exciting times ahead if the two counties could manage to pull this amalgamation off.

I would have Zero interest in it and I don't think it would appeal to anyone else either

Big win for Tourlestrane last night. By my reckoning that puts Coolera out of contention for Championship. They'd need to beat Coolaney/Mulnabreena and Tourlestrane to beat Drumcliffe/Roses Point, (which are both likely) and make up a 26pt deficit on scoring difference to DRP. A big ask..

That's if I have my maths right

A great idea ,put an end to "promotion has to be a target next year from d4"bla bla bla ,if we get within 15pts of galway ,mayo or roscommon ,we v got better ha ha ha

So the picture is becoming clearer now across the three championships. Well done to Cloonacool who have had a great run in Junior A and helped out Owenmore Gaels in the process. I'd imagine both will reach the final there.

What happened to Farnans in the senior? Some tanking to take and means Coolera will be out bar an alrighty win this weekend. Pats the surprise team of Intermediate after their first year back and they shouldn't fear Harps in their opposition.

Trying to work out who has something to play for this weekend so correct me if im wrong…Calry and Shamrock Gaels is a winner take all to get 2nd, Mullinabreena could get 3rd. Harps v Pats will decide semi, and Enniscrone, CConnor is a battle for 3rd???

You appear to have every angle covered. The story of the weekend or maybe championship so far was the capitulation of St. Farnans. Not sure when a team ever scored 7 goals in a championship game before. It all but finishes Coolera's interest in the competition. Coolera would need to beat Coolaney by 25 points approx because I doubt if Tourlestrane will help them out by dishing out a heavy beating to Drumcliffe which would help their score difference. Tourlestrane know that Coolers are more formidable that Drumcliffe. A loss for Coolera would see them in relegation .So basically 3 of the 4 senior and Intermediate teams are now known. I think Gaels will beat Calry but it will be tight. Harps seems to be slowly climbing again. Some very good young players that played on the Sligo U.20 team and they also won the U.19 A competition. They might just see off Pats who are doing very well this year.
Relegation sees Geevagh, Ballymote and John's confirmed with the losers of the West Division derby joining them.
Relegation in senior is Tubbercurry, Curry, Farnans and losers of Coolaney/Coolera.
It's a bit disappointing that on the last weekend of the Round Robin there's little to play for with a lot of teams.
Looking like Mary's v Tourlestrane for Senior final
Easkey v Molaise in inter.
Tubbercurry to go down in Senior along with St. John's in intermediate

Last weekend of the groups I'm going to go for Coolera win but not by enough, draw between Drum and Tour, Shamrock Gaels and Marys. Molaise, Pats, Easkey and Enniscrone in Inter
Tourlestrane to win Junior A relegation

Weekend came up fast so only giving my predictions now. Molaise to win Junior, and then Pats to beat Easkey in the second game. Tubber to beat a demoralized Coolaney and Curry to take Farnans.
I think Geevagh will win Relegation and also Castleconnor in the intermediate.
In the games tomorrow , In the intermediate semi the Bunnies to win
