Mochs are a far better outift than the Blues. 3/4 of the blues lads looked like they wanted to be there, the rest didnt put up much of a fight. Mairtins obviously very good and their game management is their most impressive quality. Know when to slow it down and speed it up, take a lot of time with free kicks when they want and when they have a man on the ground they usually take their time, to kill any hope of the game being a contest. Mochs have far better footballers than any team the jocks have faced this year and have threats all over the pitch, not just the two Byrnes. The fact that the Mochs have been tested might stand in their favour, whereas Mairtins havent. Well done to the Glen Emmetts, League and Champ winners without really breaking a sweat, really solid team and I still feel they have a lot more to give, they are not a Junior team with the right attitude going forward they can be a force in intermediate Fechins finally get across the line and fair play to them they have had their doubters but they showed proper grit to get over the line, good blend of old and new players there hopefully they can settle themselves in senior championship next year The Jocks are a serious force!! Its the attitude and togetherness of the squad that is most impressive, they mix hard work with serious talent. they have gotten the monkey off their backs beating the blues and I can see them winning easily against a spirited Mochtas. Would anyone have enough knowledge to put together a team of the year for both junior and intermediate football ? I'm thinking maybe yourself Ollie. Also surely there are a few emerging talents from the championships this year that could potentially catch the eye of mickey Harte or maybe they could be aiming towards a county call up in the next year or two. Unfortunately Louthforsam with Covid hovering around the past two seasons I have been restricted from going to matches. Please God next year wee will get back to some sort of normality. Option A for me, not bad. Championship as it is is grand. But the big problem i feel is the lack of league games and stopping for county players so this hits all. Congrats to Naomh Mairtin who could still dominate for years to come as they have youth on their side. The Mochtas were dragged to the final by the Byrne brothers and badly lack strength in depth. Craig Lennon has been arguably player of the Championship for the mochs this year. Conor Garland kept Ciaran Keenan one of the best players in the county relatively quiet in two games this year. Cormac Smyth got them over the line against Mattock in the quarters. Darren McMahon is a former county player, as well as Gerry Garland. Ciaran McMahon only came on for the first time in the year in the final. Anyone with half a football brain can see they aren't a two man team. Martins were simply unstoppable this year completely blitzed everyone. Hopefully they can get on a decent run in Leinster. Mochtas has superb year hopefully keep everyone together and come again next year, there's alot more to come from this young enough Mochtas side.
