Replying To eunans4ever:  "Haven't posted for a while but been keeping up to date on here.

The glory days are back - we are a serious team again under the brilliant tactician from Glenties/Fintown - he's simply superb.

Lot of guff on here over the last year or 2 about us not having the players - utter nonsense from 1 particular poster on that front.

Some experience year on year been at that game v the 9 point drubbing at the hands of Tyrone at home last year - remarkable actually.

We are in fantastic shape physically and mentally and the players are giving us all they have which is all we ever asked for.

One observation from the last few games which I don't like is the booing of opposition frees - it always find that disgusting when in croke park and the jacks are doing it from the hill - I know we have a lot of new and younger fans jumping on the bandwagon but I wish we would cut it out.

Exciting to see how far we can go now."
The man that can't spell Naomh Conaill is back. We have won an Ulster Title under the Messiah since you were away.

Please leave eunans4ever alone. His mammy had taken his phone and he just got it back, don't worry he'll lose again now for the Junior cert exams.

Absolutely terrific performance against Tyrone. We never took a backward step and played really positively. Tyrone were good in the first half but some really wayward shooting killed them. Some of those shots were really low percentage. McGee and Langan were brilliant in midfield and another top drawer performance from Peadar Mogan. Mark Curran is really unlucky to lose his place but Ban has to start, what a player.

The Cork game could be tricky as they were good against Kerry and won't go down without a fight on their home pitch. If we win that game and Tyrone beat Clare does that mean we are guaranteed top spot? If we can claim top spot and go straight through to the quarter final we will have a great chance of winning that game given that our opponents would have played the preliminary quarter final the week before.

I keep telling myself that we aren't contenders this year as it's too soon in the McGuinness era but we are answering all the questions so far. Dublin are a great side and Kerry on their day are also very good but I don't think there is anything amazing outside those two teams.

If Comer is fit Galway would be very dangerous opponents imo. You'd imagine there has to be another kick in Derry, I expect them to beat Armagh in a tight game and then Westmeath.
We are motoring great and if we stay injury free it will take a good team to beat us that's for sure. Some turnaround from last few years.

Yeah Comer is hard to handle. Shane Walsh can also be a very dangerous player to curtail if he's in the mood.
We need to concentrate on Cork first though. They have good players and can be a handful for any team if they get any encouragement. I trust that Jim will have the lads well prepped and there will be zero complacency. If we do manage to pick up another win and Tyrone beat Clare, does that then mean we're guaranteed top place?

Given the speed at which the Donegal camp high tailed it off the pitch and onto the bus to get their recovery session in Convoy I dont think any of them will be complacent going to the Rebel County at the weekend. It really was a signal of intent.

I suspect they will be travelling down and overnight ing it on the Friday.

It's a pity the game is not the Pairc Ui Choimh. Would have been nice to see us open up on a big expansive pitch.

Is PMcBrearty over the hill? Maybe a great impact sub?

I don't think there is any risk of complacency or players not being well prepped. Never saw a team leaving a pitch as quick as last Saturday. They ran straight off the pitch, no autographs, selfies etc. Straight to Convoy I'd say for recovery and planning for the Cork game probably started right away.

It's a long spin down to cork and they'll no doubt be heading Friday. I would guess accommodation for the team would be hard (and expensive) enough found given the bank holiday weekend and the cork marathon. I'm definitely disappointed it's not in pairc ui caoimh. I doubt pitch recovery has much to with it and their football team are very happy to be in pairc ui rinn.

We played them there in the league in 19. It was a close game and cork were winning pretty well at half time. I remember Murphy having a good discussion with the team just before the start of the second half and they certainly improved and won fairly well in the end. What must have been a young Oisin Gallen played that day.

They really have to focus only on this match and winning it and forget about everything else.

Although not at his best, Paddy still get scores from play every game. The injury earlier this year hasn't helped, he was looking very sharp in the early parts of the league. He would be an absolutely brilliant impact sub for sure but it's difficult to see who we could start instead of him who has his scoring power. If he hit form, he could fire over 3/4 points from play, he has that in his locker.

If we beat Cork and Tyrone beat Clare then only Cork or Tyrone could get 4 points and we would have them on head to head.Is McColgan injured again.Amid the euphoria nobody in the press seems to notice these things.Conor O'Donnell's injury must be very bad, still no sign of him and big Hughie is still out.On the plus side caolan Ward seems to be ok again. The stronger the panel the better.

I think he's best used as an impact sub now, bringing him on gives everyone a lift. I wouldn't say he is over the hill, but has lost a bit of speed due to injuries and age, can't get the shot off in tight spaces like he used to, needs a split second more nowadays. But I think he provides great leadership around the squad and on the field, never hides, looks to take on responsibility when we need scores. He's still the most accurate forward in the county after Gallen

We need him for left footed frees as Thompson wouldn't be just as reliable. We saw when Fara was off that Langan made a bad job of a free from that side.In a tight game that could be crucial.

Saturday eve was magical. Best atmosphere in Ballybofey since I would say the wins over tyrone in 2013 and 2015.
The spread of scorers is a huge thing since the 1st league game v Cork last January.
Would be cautious though. Tyrone on their day are brilliant but so inconsistent. I would like to see us take out a Galway or Mayo before I would even think about Dublin or Kerry. But only Year 1 of Jim and we are motoring very nicely.
Like a few previous posters, it is disappointing not to get to the new Páirc Uí Chaoimh when going this Saturday. Cork deserve respect as they gave the Rossies and Mayo beatings last season so they can be dangerous. IIt will not be easy. Anyway roll on Saturday and lets hope we get the job done.

I agree. One thing he never does is hide. He'll keep demanding the ball and trust in his ability to kick points no matter what the scenario. He did it in the first Tyrone game to seal the win and also in the Ulster final when he kicked the equaliser.

I actually think these next two games will help Paddy. The systems and defending that Cork and Clare employ might not be as suffocating as what we've encountered in Ulster so far and the first group game. It's a good few years ago now but I can remember a high scoring qualifier game against Cork in Croke Park and Paddy ran riot. Think he kicked about 10 or 11 points that day.

Ah we cannot afford to be playing him for left sided frees. Ciaran is more than capable of scoring a high percentage of them.

Pairc ui Rinn pitch is the same size as pairc ui chaoimh.

looking forward to our trip to pairc ui rinn, enjoyed our last visit there in 2019. Easy enough ground to get to as well, if lastsaturday is anything to go by i would expect a decent donegal crowd travel, the game is at a good time to go up and won in one day, it is not the long trek it once was since the tuam to limerick motorway opened.

I expect Cork to be competitive particularly on their home patch (they never travelled north well) and they gave Kerry their fill of it for long spells in killarney . i think we will outnumber them supporters wise as the Cork public are more interested in the hurlers. a pity the game wasn't in pairc ui chaoimh as I haven't been to the redeveloped stadium yet and it looks highly impressive.

We can't look past Cork, a side that ran Kerry close this year and a side who beat Mayo last year. A team we haven't won against since 2012.

Saying that, if we do get over Cork, we can't hide from the fact we are three games away from an All Ireland.

I know a lot of posters are saying we are a year or two away from winning it, but sport doesn't work like that. You can't pick or choose what year you want to win silverware.

I think physically and fitness wise we are ready. Whether we can do it or not, is a different thing but no doubt Jim and the players will give it their all, and that's all you can ask for.
