They play mullinaghta next will they beat them?
I can't see it dpending on mullinaghta team as well.

We are not going to qualify from this group now. Our squad isn't big enough to cope with losing 6 lads and now Ronan Sweeney looks like he could miss a few games. Slashers should have beaten us last week but we got lucky in that one. Can't see us getting anything out of the last 3 games.

I know that we all like to talk down our own clubs' chances but I think that's being a little previous, Frank. Everyone in that group is likely to take points off everyone else.

Are you a closet Killoe supporter, using Leitrim as your county for a smokescreen? Fairly unusual rhetoric over a number of your posts for a supposed neutral.....

No team is out of this after 2 rounds. Clonguish could even lose their next game and still get through. They lost 2 out of their first 3 games last year and still made it through. But the rumour I heard about them beating down the door of Midland Trophies after winning the Leader Cup, to start putting their name on the Connolly Cup is making this Carrick win even more laughable on them. Fair play Carrick, good to see them Newtown lads put back in their box!!

Yes Carrickedmond were full value for their win in the park this evening and well done to Eugene for setting them up well but be honest clonguish will still be there in the business end. Hopefully Ronan Sweeney is ok, nobody likes to see any player leaving the field injured, looked to be a big hit..

Big win for Carrickedmond, fair play to them. Worth remembering tho that Clonguish lost two of their group games last year (beaten by Mostrim in round 2 and Dromard in round 3) but got their act together and went all the way to the final and nearly won it. In 2015 Killoe won the championship after losing 2 of their 3 group games and limped into the quarter final as the last team to qualify only after beating Ballymahon in a play-off after they both ended up in 8th and 9th in the group table on same points. Never looked back after that and went on to Leinster semi-final. No easy games left for Clonguish, so bit of soul searching needed. Talent is there, pieces just need to come together when push comes to shove.

I'd be surprised if there's a team at the end of the group stage that hasn't been beaten at least once.

Too early to call anything yet.

I'm not a Killoe supporter but I admire what they have done. All you hear and see here and on social media is clonguish are gonna dominate. Can you show me how I'm a killoe supporter on here. I actually don't live too far from Newtown and I'd like to see them do well but I don't see it coming like many think.

Agree - More of this please. They did pretty atrociously on the predictions for the first round games, but what they lack in predicting they make up for in reviewing.

The only ones talking about Clonguish "domination" are from Killoe and Slashers for obvious reasons. One particular poster is non stop. We scraped by Mullinalaghta last year and it was a "passing of the torch" despite nothing won.
With the teams we have left and the panel we are currently working with I would be happy to avoid the relegation playoff

I'd say that's a true enough assessment. Although the torch might be handed back to Mullinalaghta when facing Clonguish in the next round. They'll fancy their chances of gaining revenge after last year.

Underage success doesn't guarantee domination at senior level. Colmcille won 3 under 21 championships and yielded one Senior championship. Granard won 6 out of 8 minor championships and 2 under 21 and didn't win a senior championship. Dromard won 5 under 21 championships and yielded one Senior championship from that. When you're at senior level the lad you were a foot taller than has caught up in height. Or the lad you were stronger than has filled out and is just as strong.

Was watching Eugene McCormack interview over on the Meet the Manager series on Youtube. Very level headed guy. His view was that it will be down to three clubs... Killoe, Clonguish and Mullinalaghta with lots of possible upsets in there this time - Granard, Rathcline, Carrickedmond, Dromard all capable of big surprises. (Of course that was before the Clonguish club was disbanded for being talked up too much on a forum - turns out it's the lack of hope that kills you!)

Early days lads, early days!

Weekend results pretty much as you'd expect. Granard were shaping up to make it an interesting second half against Killoe but then forgot to come back out for the second half. Killoe had gone 15 minutes without a score by halftime, and then Granard went 25 minutes of the second half before registering a score. Wasn't a classic.

Big winning margin for Ardagh Moydow at the weekend. Ballymahon might struggle to avoid the drop. Bottom 2 go down to Junior this year.

Abbeylara slashers was the only game I saw online this weekend. I think Abbeylara deserves it and must be delighted with the win

went to 2 games, colmcille Kenagh and granard killoe. Competive 1st halves in both games. Class taking over in 2nd halves. Granard completely fell apart in 2nd half and Kenagh are a bit better than I would have expected. Another round of games this weekend. League tables are beginning to take shape.

Well that's Mickey Graham out of contention for the Longford job. Leitrim bound according to Shannonside.

Has any team gone Senior - Intermediate - Junior in consecutive years in Longford? Likely to happen, as you say with 2 dropping down, and Ballymahon still with FMG, Connollys & Kilashee to play.

Don't think Graham was ever in the picture.
They offered Christie another term giving him responsibility for the U20's as well.
He walked a week later. The Co Board it appears does not have any interest in the county team. It seems to be a box ticking exercise.
They will announce an appointment in late oct or beginning of November, just in time for pre season training.
Don't expect a big name.
