Replying To #Putitup:  "Not sure about killoe, from 7 County players starting they have returned with only having 2/3 playing in last 3 games, i hear 3 long term injuries by the looks of it with Quinn and 2 Hughes likely not to play any part and Mimnagh went off after 5 mins in the laurels. I presume the return is Larry Moran who was there last year and played last week. There was talk of McCormack brothers back for Dempsey but surely thats rubbish.
I'd imagine the Leader Cup will be the start of Clonguishes run of success at senior grade as they are getting stronger and stronger every week, Carey is easily the most accurate player seen in Longford for a long time.. Well Done to Granard considering they also had a lot of disruption with county senior and u21.
Mostrim could beat Rathcline, they always pull off big performances when they need too..
Carrickedmond will be disappointed they didn't do better after a great start.
Will be interesting to see 1st couple of rounds of championship
When are fixture Dates to be released?"
Yep. Tired legs, injury niggles and a few key lads past their best. You won't meet many in the parish who think Killoe will win all in front of them this year. Might make the Leader Cup final (though I'm not sure) but I am sticking firmly with Clonguish to win it and that's the start of their purple patch. Can't begrudge it - We enjoyed ours, Mullinalaghta same. Changing of the guard. Always the way.

Arva have just opened a new pitch on the Aughnacliffe Road (will be a very impressive grounds once it's all developed) so I'm guessing thats why Dromard are flipping to there now while their own is being worked on.

Senior and Intermediate Championship starts on weekend of 19th July according to the master fixtures on the county website. Five weeks rest for Mullinalaghta and Carrickedmond :-).

Killoe have been there plenty of times before, so have Mullinalaghta along with Colmcille and Dromard have been around semi finals and finals in the last few year thats a big help for them. Hard to really believe in Clonguish until they go and win one. Championship will probably be the third weekend in July

Replying To Frank74:  "I think what Oddball is getting at, is that they played their league games in Edgeworthstown when their own ground was unavailable. And now when it's a do or potentially die game they are bringing Slashers out of the county to play.
The relegation final is a neutral ground as far as I am aware."
Ah Frank. It was yourself who brought up the topic in relation to Slashers travelling to Arva to play it and not Oddball. Unless you and Oddball are the same poster.
It seemed strange Dromard playing a few home matches in Edgeworthstown when Colmcille or Monaduff was more convienent to them.

I'd imagine it's the connection with macken isn't he based up that way now? Surely shroid could be used by any team as an overflow if issues with pitches. Drumlish get it hard to let their own on that precious piece of land never mind another club, don't think your allowed walk across it to the warm-up pitch

I had a message posted questioning why the venue choice for the Dromard/Slashers game.
It was posted up, then HS took it down and then re-posted it a few messages below the original post...hence my message after that saying I was all confused lol

Padraig must be 31 or 32 now at this stage.
When did he last play senior for Killoe?

32 must be 4 or 5 years since he played and will probably still be the best defender in the championship this year!!

Was this the first Longford league fixture played outside county. Do Slashers have grounds for appeal. Did Dromard get permission to play match outside county.
Was consideration given to Slashers supporters who had to make the journey for a mid week fixture.
At least Relegation final/playoff will be played in Longford now.

What are you trying to get at there?
There are lots of other clubs who don't let warm ups take place on the main pitch.
You obviously have a chip on your shoulder with us for some reason.

This fixture was very strange. Original match fixed for Saturday week. Then brought forward to this weekend.
Did both clubs fix it for midweek between themselves without knowledge of County Board. As it stands Slashers now has extra time toprepare for Relegation final / payoff.
Wouldnt surprise me if the match was refixed, this time at a Longford venue

Very good reason for that, keep your ear to the ground. Most of the county knows what went on by now

Considering I've been out of the country all week and only landed back this evening, you can give me a break! Since I've got back, I've been told the reason why the result was not posted up. Big massive cock up by Dromard! So do Slashers stay up now or replay?

I've just noticed the first round games have dates set. Two odd dates that I noticed, Killoe v Colmcille on a Tuesday evening in Pearse Park and Rathcline and Granard on a Thursday evening also on Pearse Park.

I asked the question tonight, I am told there are not enough referees in the county to hold all games on Fri and Sat so clubs offered to play midweek and the carrot for doing so was Pearse Park game.

Probably a replay.

Leader cup semis this Saturday.

Granard at home to Killoe
Abbeylara at home to Clonguish

Probably a tight game in Higginstown with Granard winning narrowly. Clonguish will win the other semi comfortably I reckon. Rathcline should beat Mostrim in the relegation game. Still no white smoke on the other relegation result.
