Looks like the manager is just trying to get silverware to boost his job prospects further up the food chain. Using the the Outsider (3 of which are permitted) and the parentage rule has prevented or blocked local lads from playing. Its going beyond a joke

Any reports from the league games over the weekend?
Big wins for Carrickedmond, Granard and Clonguish.
Killoe with a good win over Dromard and Abbey over their neighbours.
Mostrim and Slashers really struggling.
Mullinalaghta with only 1 win to their name, but I think all 3 losses were close affairs so I wouldn't be too worried about them been relegated.

Granard were extremely good against our lads. We had no answer for them Granard were very good in the group stages of last years championship and they have some good u20s and Gallagher is still probably the best club player in the county.

Well done to the minors last night. Back in a Leinster final. Will be tough against the Dubs. Beating them a second time will be a challenge. At least they have 2 more matches as they qualify for AI QFs.
Apparently they trailed all the way until injury time last night. Sign of a good team hanging in there believing in themselves

Congrats to the Minors on a great win. Louth looked strong and assured in the first half, and it looked like it had gone from us at one stage, but our lads kept the faith and hung in there. Should go into the final full of confidence and nothing to fear. Great opportunity to capture a very significant bit of silverware. Well done to the players and to Enda and the management team. A Leinster final and an All-Ireland quarter final will stand those lads in great stead. I seem to remember we very nearly bet Derry in the All-Ireland quarter final in 2015. So anything can happen now!

Is it time to put Quinn into the full forward line as a target and a fulcrum to allow the smaller, faster forwards loop around him? Build up play will be less ponderous if he's not always on it inside our own half and he's the physicality to win his ball. Himself and Hughes for example inside as outlets?

Has to. Cant believe he got it initially, he wasn't highly thought of in his brief time in the Lomans backroom team.

At this point, there has been no improvement at all throughout the PC tenure and surely from next year a local management team would do just as well as the current set up given that it would be very hard to attract a top level manager? No disrespect to the lads that are in there as credit has to be given to them for sticking with it but i dont even think theres a manager that would be able to get this current group to a higher lever, but we definitely can structure our play better to make us more competitive.

We are a Div4 team, and given some recent league results/performances in league and championship, the 'lower' Div 4 teams are kicking on which doesnt bode well for us int he next few years.

Would a local management team to bridge the next few years be the best thing for it and hope a new young team can be built up?

Completely agree. Focus needs to be on underage and supporting that group as they come through. Will take a few years to turn things around and we have to accept that things will get worse before it gets better. The talent just isn't there with this senior squad and there's no point banging on about lads who maybe should be there but aren't. Anyone sat at home because they don't see eye-to-eye with management or whatever, isn't the sort you need to move things forward! Once TC is over, time for a reset and new management!
