I think Gortletteragh would be happy with the draw too.

I'd say Leitrim Gaels would be the happiest followed marginally by Aughawillan. I think Gortletteragh might face a different enough challenge this weekend. Anyhow it makes for an interesting championship.

Manor could only have got Mohill, Ballinamore, Aughawillan or Gortletteragh so I'd be thinking that Gortletteragh would be the weakest of those teams based on league form.

Likewise with Gortletteragh they could've got St Marys or Fenagh so they'd be happy with Manor

I'd say Gortletteragh would be happier if they got Dromahair instead of Manor, but yes they would be happy to have avoided St Mary's and Fenagh.

Odds are out for this weekend.
Willie's 2/5 Melvin Gaels 9/4
Ballinamore 2/5 Mary's 9/4
Gortletteragh 5/2 Manor 4/11
Leitrim Gaels 1/8 Dromahair 9/2
Mohill 1/6 Fenagh 4/1

I'm finding it hard to see value in those odds. But I'll put this week's €5 on a Gortletteragh and Fenagh double which would pay €88.

Gortletteragh will fancy their chances this weekend but Manor will be a step up. I expect the game to be close.
Mohill were superb against Mary's but Fenagh are a totally different style of team to Mary's. I expect a high scoring game.

Does anyone know what players Leitrim have on the Leitrim/Longford Masters team?

Fair play to Gortletteragh great result last weekend but Manor even though they not the force of old is a huge step up . Gortletteragh won't be able to handle the likes of Sweeney, Dolan and Brady. Manor to win easily. Mohill , Aughawillan, Ballinamore and Leitrim Gaels to win the other games.

Some win for Fenagh this evening. Early days yet but it would be great to see a new name on the Dick Ellis Cup.

Great wins for Fenagh and Carrick on the road. Would love to see Fenagh win a senior title they had several heartbreaking near misses in the 90s and 00s, they certainly have lots of talent in that team as do Carrick who had a great win in Ballinamore . I expect both to get to the knockout stages now. Leitrim Gaels, Aughawillan and Manor won as expected but Gortletteragh pushed them hard enough in the second half however Manor never really looked like losing. Gortletteragh will be happy to see Jack Heslin back and scored 1 3 coming on at half time, they need him fit and firing if they are going to stay up.

Jesus Jimmy give gortletteragh a break two weeks in a row you've said they'd get hammered. That being said they've really left there poor league form behind them. They're young players have really stood up and now they've Jack heslin and Padraig Gallagher returning from injury which will improve them ten fold. Frees killed them in the second half yesterday although ref didn't help. They're defensive set up kept sweeney Dolan and Brady relatively quiet.

I wasn't a fan of the new system of not knowing who you are playing from one week to the next. But so far so good.
A upset win for Gortletteragh next week over Leitrim Gaels is possible and Ballinamore could beat Mohill.
The cat will definitely be among the pigeons then.

Another interesting draw this evening... Ballinamore could be in trouble if they loose next week... will be a tough game. Hard to call but I'd have Mohill shading it. The best of the rest will surely be Aughawillan and Glencar. The Willies bet them well earlier in the season but I expect this to be a tighter affair... I expect the Willies to pull through given home advantage.

I think the whole system is great. Should be a cracker next week in mohill and ballinamore. Fenagh got handy draw against dromahair so should be able to back up win this weekend.

you could possibly have mohill or ballinamore facing a relegation semi final after this weekend.

I don't think Mohill would agree with the system having drawn Carrick, Ballinamore and Fenagh so far

Its a strange system but I'm enjoying it this year. Normal years the order of the groups nearly always correspond with whos the best teams in the county. This year though you could have some of the top 3 teams in the county fall into relegation. Its looking like 4 points could be enough to get top 6 but it'll come down to score difference.

Power Rankings

1. Mohill
2. Ballinamore
3. Fenagh
4. St Marys
5. Leitrim Village
6. Aughawillan
7. Manor
8. Gortletteragh
9. Melvin Gaels
10. Dromahair

I think we are gonna look back on this championship as being one of the best ever. There's been no hammerings (bar Dromahir vs Ballinamore) and most games are very close.

Don't think this weekend will decide that. You will see at least one of them in a do or die last game to make a quarter final though. It's turning out to be an exciting championship and this new format is keeping all teams on their toes. You could potentially see Mohill, Ballinamore, Marys and Aughawillan/Manor in cracking quarter finals.
