Replying To Leitrim1234:  "I haven't posted in a long time as I've been hugely disillusioned with where football is at in the county since we (needlessly) forfeited the game in the league.
However, I still maintain we are producing more higher quality footballers then ever - Even if we lack in the conditioning stakes and a few other areas.

With the league starting next weekend a few of us where discussing how this might be the most cut-throat club season in 20 years.

To prove this I have put together a depth chart for all the senior clubs main players - From that it'll be interesting to see who people think have the strongest panels. from what I can see (in no order) Fenagh, Ballinamore, Leitrim Gaels and St Marys are the strongest panels. Mohill will really suffer without Shane Quinn and Jordan Reynolds.
The addition of 3 Senior inter county standard players to Leitrim Gaels is exactly the match our club footballers needs to ignite it.

Aughawillan and Melvin Gaels seem to be by far the weakest - Having been destroyed by emigration and other issues (in Melvin Gaels case) so are severely weakened - The Willies may be blessed to have Melvin Gaels this weekend without County players as i'm sure they are both targetting eachother for a win.

Yes, I've more then likely forgot a few key players in these lists - feel free to add to it.

Ballinamore SOH:
Tom Prior
Paul Honeyman
Cathal McHugh
Shane Moran
Paul Moran
Michael McKiernan
Michael McBrien

Great post.

All the people here who ranted about how bad they thought Andy Moran and co were should be the first ones on here calling on Poacher to leave. The reality is our record has been dismal.
He was dealt a terrible hand when he came in but his media duties and player management has been terrible in all reality - alongside our results.

We performed fine against Mayo and Sligo but when you combine all the factors that shouldn't be enough to save him.

Brilliant insight into our club scene in that post. I could quibble with a few players but we have 4/5 really high quality clubs and Manor should also develop in the next year or two which means we will have a really strong club scene.

I'd agree with the last poster: Melvin Gaels and Aughawillan seem to be way of the levels of the other teams in Division One - shown by one of Aughawillans players mentioned above being over 40. Aughawillan losing Plunkett, Dolan and McTague should prove fatal - looks like the end of that team that won the championships a decade ago. Another case if what might have been for Melvin Gaels if all the players they developed wanted to play for their own club.

Id expect a huge crowd at the St Marys - Leitrim Gaels Derby. The Gaels will be expecting to lay down a marker in their forst big game but they'll be missing their county players.

Are Melvin Gaels players going to Donegal to play?

Are we still alive in the tailteann cup with a win on Sunday? Or do we have to win by 10+ points?

Antrim v London is the game you need to keep an eye on also. Antrim expected winners and currently have a -24 in scoring difference. Leitrim -29 and should you win the side with the better scoring difference reaches the knock out stages. New York will take the spot of the worst 3rd placed team.

I'm not sure if many are involved with clubs competing in - or even following - the U15 Division One league that's ongoing at the minute. It has turned into a complete farce with the "Naomh Eoin" amalgamation.

For those who don't know, Naomh Eoin at u15 level consists of five clubs: Ballinamore, Fenagh, Aughawillan, Drumreilly, and Aughnasheelin. I have no issue with amalgamations being formed when needed for numbers, but for five clubs to join together, enter two teams at U15 level, and dish out hammerings to stand-alone clubs like St Mary's - with scorelines like 8-16 to 0-2 - surely something has to be done.

Bear in mind, St Mary's have been one of the standard bearers for underage football in Leitrim over the past number of years. Full credit must go to Annaduff, St Mary's, and Glencar Manorhamilton who have worked hard with their teams since academy level and are well capable of competing at division one level only now to be met with this five-club shambles.

With an upcoming Féile qualifier tournament this weekend, surely the Leitrim County Board must step in and ensure that the best stand-alone U15 team gets to represent their club and county, rather than a regional amalgamation."
i see Manor U15's beat the unbeatable Naomh Eoin the other night. looks a good league from the final league table.

A single point win for Leitrim would be great.

We're hoping for Antrim V London to end in a draw and we beat Tipperary.
We'd then have 2 points and Ant/Ldn would have 1 each with one of them in 3rd place on points difference.
One of these would then be eliminated allowing us progress. A bit of a stretch but mathematically possible.
Does anyone here know the referee in the Ant/Ldn match, just curious.

There is a better chance of a narrow win for antrim and a 5 - 10 point win for us, which probably is not going to cut it in the final. Id take any kind of a win for us and give an indication that we will at least compete next year. The signs were there vs Mayo and Sligo

What about the signs vs Kildare x2, Laois, Clare, Antrim, Fermanagh and Sligo?

A Meath-based supporter who is clearly connected to one of the clubs involved in the Naomh Eoin fiasco. Once again, you're avoiding the actual facts by offering a simplistic comment in an attempt to justify what's been going on.

This was a meaningless game in which Naomh Eoin had already secured top spot, regardless of the result. It's highly likely they rested or rotated a number of their key players-as they've done throughout this league and during the Féile competition-simply because they don't need to rely on their strongest lineup. Why? Because they have the luxury of drawing from five different clubs, giving them a massive advantage in terms of numbers and depth.

This isn't about one result-it's about the broader issue of fairness and integrity in the competition.

Ya must have been up all night thinking of that reply. Last chance saloon on Sunday, a bit of positivity in an otherwise garbage year would not go amiss from some people on here. Our issues on player retention are well documented

you're assuming a lot there. that i'm from a club invovled and that Naomh Eoin rested players. don't assume anything.

facts are Naomh Eoin won some games easily, no doubt, but so have other clubs, only this week Rin beat MacChuamhails on a score line of 8.07 to 8 points, Manor have beaten Annaduff on a score of 4.16 to 3 points. Marys beat MacChumhaills 9.19 to 2.10.

with regards the numbers and depth i don't know how many players clubs have but can someone confirm how many players Eoin have. have they 30-40.
