So it's Galway in Salthill in 2 weeks. Hopefully we can put in a decent show but I'm afraid we've no one to handle the likes of Comer, Shane Walsh and Paul Conroy to name 3. It was important to get out of London with a win but our defending for them goals was desperate and a worrying sign for Galway. Hoping for the best in 2 weeks but I'd be worried.

The return of Keith Beirne is a massive boost. He is the one player since Mulligan was at his best, who would start on any team in the country. Of course Galway back up in Division 1 will be expected to win well, but one never knows. If ye were due to play ourselves ye would rightly be given yerselves a chance even though we played them twice in a week, beat them twice in a week, and kicked 2-40 against them. Hopefully Andy will decide to go man for man and take the game to them from the start. Best of Luck.

Going to be a really tough task in 2 weeks time in Galway. I agree we will struggle to hold the likes of Walsh and comer. I think the way pearse Dolan is playing he can somewhat nullify conroy or at least the Damage he will cause. Dolan Is good in the air and very athletic. Keith Beirne was outrageous in the league some of the scores he kicked. The only worry I have for him is that turn of pace on the hard ground. Ryan o Rourke will give them something to think about it and so will Tom prior with his pace. Anything under 7-9 points defeat is a huge step in the right direction in my opinion. That's a really good Galway team. They have strength all over the pitch.

A real round about post about saying look at us, aren't we great. League means nothing in term of championship form. I'd expect Galway to comfortably beat Roscommon in a championship game in Salthill and it will most likely be comfortable for them against Leitrim too.

How could you say you expect Galway to comfortably beat Roscommon. They've met in 4 Connacht finals since 2016 both winning two apiece the 2016 went to a replay and Galway won. As well as this Roscommon beating them twice in one week. Roscommon are a serious outfit and strong contenders to raise the Nestor Cup for the 25th time.

Anyone else find it very strange that Keith Beirne wasn't with the team during the London game. I notice Jordan Reynolds, Tom Prior etc in county gear all together near bench as well as having a few pints together before game. Good to see. But noticed when the game kicked off that Beirne was standing in terrace not in county gear. Plenty of rumours flying around that there has been a falling out. Has anyone anything else to add to this story.

I presume you are tongue in cheek. Every game has to be treated on its own merits. Presuming Galway and Ros progress it is really 50 50 although I feel we will move heaven and earth to ensure Ros don't beat us for a 3rd time in a row in Salthill should we meet. Sligo in fairness will give Ros plenty to think of this weekend and I expect Leitrim to come all guns blazing on Sunday week. On Sunday gone we should have game managed that match better but our defensive have learned from the league final and by and large were much improved on any league performance. They had to be against a top tier side.

Due to suspension don't think he is allowed with official party. Suspended from all Gaa activity. Open to correction but possibly this is the reason.

I just hope it is not another mauling like Mayo last year.
Hard to come back from that, keep the score to within 10 points would be in my opinion a good performance.

I wouldnt be surprised, It wouldnt be the first falling out, we are experts at that especially at a time when unity is needed.

I like many was expecting promotion and that clearly has not been delivered. A lot of money has been put into this management team and like I said, there will be no excuses in 2023 if promotion is not delivered."
Listen, managing Leitrim is a bit like moving the deck chairs around on the titanic,

No. Keith Beirne or Mulligan would not start on any team in the country and we don't have any player in that category either.

It's the wum routine he likes to play. Even in the prediction competition on here when one is meant to use their head he couldn't bring himself to predict any win for Roscommon in Div 2.

Keephimthere posted up a decent and honest on topic post in regards to this upcoming Galway v Leitrim semi final and kentuckytucky couldn't help himself but to attack it with his usual nonsense and such nonsense like that is why a number of good and informed Leitrim posters don't bother posting on here anymore.

Galway are no world beaters. Mayo were injury hit and poor last Sunday but Galway just about beat them. We have Sligo first and if we win that, I'd give Roscommon a good chance in Salthill assuming Galway take Leitrim which is expected.

Well he wasn't part of the squad so he was entitled to enjoy himself. He will be on the pitch against Galway. We will need some performance from him too.

It will be interesting to see how he line up against Galway. I'd suspect be much different to London game. We will have to leave 13-14 men behind the ball at most times our star forwards Beirne and O'Rourke left up top. I believe a big game for O'Rourke is more important than Beirne. We know what Beirne can do 7-8 points per game is expected but if we get ball in hand to O'Rourke running at Galway defenders it'll leave them another headache to worry about and bring some of the Galway focus off beirne. I reckon we should deploy more defensive wing forwards to cope with the Galway wingbacks (possibly play wingbacks at wing forward) Riordan is a quality footballer but defense is not his main stay. Another big impact off the bench is needed from Heslin but lets not hope the game is too far out of reach when he comes on. He has got a name for being an impact sub lately but many around the county believe he should be starting. A tough game is in store for us but it will be a real marker to see how far we've improved since the Mayo game last year.
