Replying To Highandmighty:  "I do agree on people being blind to the state of football in the county and not liking Hyland calling it out.

When you watch the Tyrone semi-final on RTE on Saturday, the gulf between the quality in that game and our own county final, was colossal. As you say, the game had everything from an entertainment standpoint but aside from Keith Beirne's scoring , there wasn't too much in the line of high quality play but there was a lot of unforced errors and as you said kickouts were woeful, thankfully neither of those men will be the starting keeper for the county.

Only thing I don't agree on is laying the boot in with Moran, Hyland was walking away anyway and we aren't exactly an enticing opportunity for any manager, lets just wait and see what happens with Moran before giving out about him before a ball is kicked."
Not laying the boot into Moran but I think the whole thing needs a reality check, that's all

What are people hearing about the extended panel that Moran and co. have picked?

I've heard from a few players so far that they're loving the freshness of the training and some of the idea's so far.

There's talk that contact has been made with 2/3 Dublin based players who are all defenders. In my eyes this could be a game changer if they get these names on board. Would give a huge lift to the whole thing and increase quality and competition.

Here is a panel of 40 I would name: Who am I missing?

Goalkeepers:

Brendan Flynn, Sean Reynolds, Diarmuid McKiernan,

Defenders:

Paddy Maguire, Conor Reynolds, Fergal McTague, Oisin Madden, James Mitchell, David Bruen, Cillian McGloin, Donal Casey, Jack Gilheany, Sean Harkin, Ciaran Cullen, Shaun Chandler, Mark Diffley, Paddy McKenna, Oisin McCaffery, Conor Farrell, (Dublin x3)

Midfielders:

Pearce Dolan, Donal Wrynn, Dean McGovern, Conor Cullen, Shane Moran, Aaron Hoare, David O'Çonnell, Ryan Donoghue

Forwards:

Mark Plunkett, Ryan O'Rourke, Keith Beirne, Darragh Rooney, Shane Quinn, Evan Sweeney, Jack Heslin, Jordan Reynolds, Caleb Duffy, Paul Keaney, Riordain O'Rourke, Oisin McLoughlin, Niall McGovern

Conor Dolan, Tom Prior can be added. Just shows we have a good panel of players. While I think 100% they should be looking at Dublin and any other county to pick up a couple of players but these players would have to be better than anything we have and not just because they have played in Dublin club teams.

I always love this time of the season where our county champions in each respective grade get to take on other county champions. Glenfarne/kitty (although not county champions) got beaten by their Sligo counterparts today at junior level. How do you think our other clubs will get on?

State of club play for me has a huge impact on inter county level achievement. SOH taking on mountbellew/ moylough tomorrow is a monumental ask for them. They are good in our eyes let's see how they get on tomorrow. Our best bet in my opinion is Dromahair taking on Naomh Annagh leitir mor from Galway- we could possibly win this if we think our intermediate grade is as good as it should be. Best of luck to both clubs

Same post different year. Who was it who said the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.

A tough ask, Intermediate in Galway is equivalent to senior standard in Leitrim.
Hopefully no hammerings on the cards.

Well was anyone at the game yesterday? Better team won? Threw it away? The result back ups the county final that we are heading in the right direction I'd hope.

looks like they put up a good performance, as did glenfarne considering they were jockeyed in their final but that could be more to do with Mohill's massive arsenal of fringe players. I agree it appears that we are starting to look better but we need a victory or two to really show that we can compete against other counties

Was at it. They put up a great show but just couldn't get out of their own half for the third quarter. Went long for ages but M/M were winning everything but then tried going short but the kicks were awful. Something they really need to work on. The ref gave M/M everything really also. Having said all that with the last play of the game they were through on goal only for a great flick away by their defender stopped them winning it.

Ballinamore had a long wait from the County final to the Connacht club game
Maybe their fitness wilted as a result. Mountbellew played the previous week

St Mary's, Mohill, Fenagh, Ballinamore all looking for new management apparently.

Anyone able to shed a bit of light on that?

Don't know situation with Mohill or Fenagh.

From what I knew from Ballinamore, this was always going to be Corrigan's last year regardless of how they got on.
Think it was a similar story with Connerton with Marys especially when things didn't work out for them.

As to who replaces them, haven't heard any names yet.

Longford Slashers have secured the services of Liam Keenan... obviously a closer gig to home appeals. I'm fairly sure he had 3 seasons with Mohill so I doubt it's anything bar it being time to move on.

Observer saying Eddie Bouabbse taking over from Corrigan in Ballinamore and yeah apparently now Eamonn O'Hara is in with Mohill.

Given the scores they racked up this year and only losing by two in the final that's surely a statement of looking to push on outside of Leitrim.

New partnership with Mckeever sports. The Jersey is nice. A better price also.

O hara to Mohil confirmed. He will win back to back senior championships with them and then put his name forward for Leitrim senior job when Moran heads back to Mayo.
