Replying To Shelbourne1:  "Not just O'Hanlon. We had 10 players missing for the Roscommon game in fact and I know Roscommon were short as well. So a different game on Sunday but I think both teams will be happy with a good performance & no injuries. Hope you win Connacht lads !"
Must be including fringe players as Monaghan will only be making 3 or 4 changes to their starting team this Saturday from that day with O'Hanlon the main player back. rossies injury hit from that game especially defensively and with their championship opener the following week and Monaghan have a three week break before the Ulster championship it's very much advantage for the Farney men.

Is Niall Daly injured or is he just not making the squad? Thought his experience would be needed especially in defense where we are struggling. Conor Daly was a big loss to the panel this year too I feel. He would have been an ideal full back and bring a bit of steel and aggression to the team also. Best of luck to the U17's this evening and to the senior team tomorrow. Be great to beat a very decent Monaghan side in Croker and most importantly that we produce a really good and improved performance from last Sunday. Ros Comáin abú

Just leaving tuam and we have a great minor team there. The organisation hunger skill levels are brilliant. I have heard great things about Shane Moran from a few roscommon gaels lads and it looks to be true. Extremely impressed from my first time viewing this team in person. Again brown looks unbelievably good and Curran is a joy to watch. Everyone today looked good. These boys could go far with the management they have. Is Shane Moran originally from roscommon gaels.

Good 3 point win by the Roscommon minors tonight over Galway in Tuam. Mature performance by the team who fully deserved their win. Galway "shot themselves in the foot" a little bit by their frequent indiscipline. (Ball being brought forward by 50 mts)
Hannon and Curran played particularly well but it was very much a team performance including a double save by the goalkeeper Cian Trimble in the second half.
Great week so far for the Rossies with the minors and under 20's both winning. Hopefully the seniors will keep the run going on Saturday night.

To answer the above Niall Daly is injured.

Good win for our U17s in Tuam stadium this evening. Having led by three at half time I'd wondered would it be enough having played with the wind but the lads really put in the work 2nd half to secure a 0-15 to 0-12 win and all the more impressive when we played the final 10 minutes with 14 men due to a black.

Good competitive contest between to well coached teams. Two wins from two for us with Mayo (H) Leitrim (A) to play.

Think Shane Moran is a Mayo man. Good win for minors in Tuam this evening. Our forwards were economical when needed. Dara Curran excellent. Roscommon though were cleaned out at midfield for much of the match and that's an area that needs to be addressed going forward. We play Mayo in The Hyde next Friday. Galway were hurt this evening by indiscipline but the new rules are simply ridiculous in terms of moving the ball forward 50 metres for supposedly not handing the ball over after a foul.

Was at the match the three breach rule more so than not handing the ball back was the issue the ref certainly didn't hold back in using the new rules but it became a very stop start contest. Galway have among the best midfield pairing at this grade but last night proved you need a lot than that to win a championship game.

Roscommon defended and attacked better of the two teams and hence deserved the win.

Huge loss at the moment, don't seem to have anyone to fill his shoes. Shannonside podcast seemed to suggest he'd be back for Connacht semi but possibly not up to speed.

Hopefully a good performance at the very least this evening. Monaghan are the only team we've played this year that are of division 1 standard so its an important test before a likely game with Galway. We know our defensive weak spots but I'd like to see us more clinical up front as well and a better spread of scores not just heavily weighted on the Murtaghs. Hope we can up the work rate and intensity because Monaghan won't be lacking that. I can understand Davy not knowing his best 15 as there has been a lot of hot and cold performances coupled with what seems a deeper panel. This is the game now for lads to start putting the hand to claim their position. Ros Comáin abú!

An absolutely shocking second half performance there but I'm not surprised. Seems to be a theme this season. I've said it before and I'll say it again we simply cannot defend. No aggression whatsoever in the tackle. No desire to play ball in the second half either. Standing around with the ball in hand waiting for something to happen and then lads receiving ball standing still while Monaghan did everything at pace. Defended at pace and with aggression and attacked at pace. Used the 2 pointer rule brilliantly also. If I was a neutral watching on I'd think that Monaghan were the team who had management in place 3 years and that Roscommon had the new management set up. Unless there are big changes in the championship then I can't see how Roscommon can continue with the current set up. Who we replace them with I don't know but we're going nowhere fast with Burke at the helm unfortunately.

Couldn't say it much better, mgt have a lot to an account for. We are clearly not concentrating on the 1v1 defending or two pointers in training
,but some of so called players are not performing either. Don't deserve to be going up to d1. I am just hoping we did a lot hard training recently and that's our excuse for collapsing in the our last few games.

10 point beating not what we wanted or needed a week before the championship gets under way. Fade out very concerning when you consider it was 0-20 to 0-18 with 15 minutes to play and just landed a point effort into the greatful arms of Beggan and from the next attack came the Monaghan goal.

Both had 31 shots on goal and some of our misses especially the final 15 minutes was as poor as I've seen our ability to pass the ball was gone at that stage also as Monaghan got scores at their ease on those turnovers.

Not long to pick things up for the championship now but on we go.

Do you have the stats on the game analyser? I'd be interested to see how many scores they got from turnovers and basic mistakes from Ros. We also kicked quite a few short again along with all the wides. Maybe our forwards aren't as great as everyone proclaims. Anyway a massive improvement needed even if it is London we're playing. If they match Monaghans intensity tonight then it'll not be the walk in the park everyone expects
