Anyone listening to the Roscommon GAA podcast on Shannonside? A great develoment and nice spread of guests.

Interesting to hear Conor Devanneys take on the last performance. Have we an issue with physicality? I thought our S and C improved a lot over the past 7 or 8 years. One on one defending is something the team is going to have to master fairly lively. I would also like to see us use quick direct kick passing more. Running with the ball or short passing seem to be still very ingrained in most teams not just Roscommon.

Good start to the campaign for the U17s with a 0-20 to 0-8 win against Sligo in a very wet Dr Hyde Park.

We raced into 9-1 lead and really should have been further ahead and then somewhat let Sligo back into the game before the break 9-4 at half time.

By the midway point of the second half we did put the contest to bed. Bigger challenges ahead starting with Galway in Tuam next but tonight was a good and hard working performance.

It was a wet evening and difficult playing conditions. I thought Roscommon were impressive. They need to tighten up on their shooting but overall a good performance. We'll know a lot more after the Galway game next Friday evening .

Someone sent me link for it a few weeks ago because Paddy Joe was on it. That man is a tonic, listening to him always puts me in good form.

Expecting changes especially in the half back line. Westmeath have only lost by less than 3 points in every game this league campaign. It will be interesting to see if mgt have learnt anything from last week's game, as i am not interested in mad post match analysis.

Whatever the personel, we need to see more intensity and fight.

I know Davy's comments were off the wall but in one way at least he has some human passion, we are so used to robotic player and manager interviews in the GAA. 'Yea sure we just were second best today, sure we'll regroup and go again the next day, sure we just didn't get over the line...' bla blah waffle waffle yawn, might as well let AI do them.
