As they said in Corofin ,there will be days like this where you shoot the lights one day and miss very little and the opposite the following day. Did feel that the surface on the Sligo pitch was nothing like Tuam and suited Coolara-Strandhill a little more. Pearses still had their chances and should have got accross the line.

Club football can be hard to call. Looking at the odds over the last few weeks a few people definitely collect a few euro. I wouldn't like to call who will win it out. I have a feeling the Tyrone boys will beat kilcoo the weekend and then it's anyone's

Don't know where the Navan story came from.
They were always going to play their League games in Ardee.

Thanks Analyser and Seanfanbocht for the league dates. (not before time!!!)
A day/night out in Cork on a Saturday night seems attractive. We owe them one.

That's a competitive Division 2. Louth will be a strong team in 2025. Hopefully Roscommon secure promotion and we can but it won't be easy.

I would regard Roscommon,Louth,Monaghan,Cork to be the main contenders for promotion next year so the rossies getting two of those away makes things tougher to secure promotion.

For example will Ben and Daire still be involved with UCD in a few weeks time.
Any lads in final year in college are under serious pressure from all sides. Same applies to all counties."
Eight of the senior panel I believe and Ben and Daire are still be involved with UCD.

Anyone know of any new lads brought in for next year? Am I right in saying C Murtagh, Nolan, McKeon and Conor Daly are all back? McCormick is gone and though? I know that Donegal have been back training around 6 weeks wonder when did we go back.

Can anyone explain why the three u20 finals are being played in Mayo? Surely the county would gave three pitches available to play them. Would Enfield, lisnamult and Strokestown no be able to host. I appreciate the time of year it is but could the county board not use Ballyhaunis as a back up?

At this time of year there's a lot of preparation for one hour of football. What neutral clubs would be prepares to mark out their pitch, put the nets back on the goals and roll out the ball stop nets behind the goals. Some may have the water turned off going to the dressing rooms and the system drains to prevent frost damage. It's a lot of work to host a game that their own club isn't involved in. Only solutions there would be a toss for home venue and that would create another problem

Boylesports have Roscommon favs to be promoted, interestingly Meath favs to be relegated, a nice way for them to go in under radar. I think Louth bubble might burst this year, Roscommon and Cork to be promoted. Cavan, Meath and Westmeath in relegation scrap

Appreciate your response two of the three venues I mentioned hosted semi finals as a natural venue yesterday. I just feel a county final at any age group should be played in the county. We are lucky in the county that we have 7 or 8 pitches that could host these matches

None of those issues a problem as at the weekend Kiltoom, Strokestown, Enfield,Elphin hosted the semi finals.

Western Gaels in Div 3 final, Glaveys/Éire Óg in the Div 1 final won't be complaining too much about the choice of the Connacht Gaa centre given it's just out the road from them. Barry's/Kilglass and Dominic's will be less pleased.

I would have attended all three finals regardless of venue, having all three finals in one venue on one day is more handy but for me Roscommon county finals should only be held in Roscommon and held in county ground Hyde Park a venue all marked out and ready to go and it's been unused since the Intermediate Connacht final.

Interesting interview with Ciaran Murtagh on the Rossie Podcast. Delighted to hear that he is back for one main reason, is genuine about it and not afraid to say it.
Fair play to Jim Gavin for giving the "Win a home in Kildare" draw a plug. THE draw will occur before the end of the year so not much time left to buy a ticket. Jim obviously would have known Dermot Early from their time together in the defence forces. Hopefully the draw will be a success and that work on the Dermot Early Centre of Excellence can proceed as soon as possible.
BUY A TICKET NOW. Don't wait until tomorrow.

Eamonn O'Hara confirmed as new boss at Boyle, great appointment you'd imagine.
How come he didn't stay with Mohill after back to back titles ?

Some money spent on Management Expenses in the county last year - be interesting to see how they would be justified if revenue came knocking

Probably brought Mohill as far as he could. Boyle very close in Roscommon on a couple of occasions recently and have four Roscommon forwards in their panel.
However with several young players coming through in Padraig Pearses and St Brigid's it will be interesting to see how he gets on under the new rules.

Management expenses covers all teams. U20s for example made their exit after one game in 2023 to All Ireland semi final this year, their management team included a few fellas from Clare. Our county board spending is well monitored.
