Replying To imformed:  "Adam Mcdermot was never given a proper chance under Davie. I can understand why he left, also looks that Davie doesn't rate Conor Hussey as he was always one of the 1st players to be taken off. McCormack a big loss as he had a very good season in 24. Connolly never rediscovered the form that he displayed when he 1st came into the squad. Lavin showed great commitment to the Roscommon team but like Mcdermot he wasn't going to get a chance to restore his place in the team."
Roscommon are well stocked in the forward division could make an argument that both Paul Carey,Adam McDermott would be starting more established at county senior level if they were from Mayo,Galway with less stocked group of forwards. Did Conor Hussey play in the championship this year to be taken off? Conor Carroll has established himself as the no 1 keeper under Burke and Lavin 2nd choice not a position in the team you'd be changing unless injury.

Great win yesterday for Pearces. They are such a well drilled team defensively but they always have been over the years. This year they have got real quality in the forwards and very solid around the middle. They are favorites now for connaght and probably won't fear anyone In Ireland now. Paul Carey was outstanding and can't understand how he's never made it at intercounty. You often see players who shine at club level but can't hit the same standards at county level. Hopefully Davy gives him a chance next year and see what he can offer.

Our three county winning reps in action this weekend.

Saturday

Connacht Intermediate Semi final

Elphin v Eastern Harps 1:30pm in Dr Hyde park.

Connacht Junior semi final

Ballymote v St Barrys - 1:30pm in Markievicz Park

Sunday

Connacht Senior Semi final

Mohill v Padraig Pearses - 1:30pm in Ballinamore

All three should be favourites but plenty of favourites have already fallen in the club championships this year.

Sligo intermediate champions has given competitive games in recent years against our clubs so would expect similar on Saturday. Eastern Harps won the Sligo county final by a bit to spare and eased past Melvin Gaels and the Leitrim champions who had only scored 0-1 after 50 minutes of that game.

Sligo Junior clubs have reached 4 of the last 5 Junior Connacht finals. Cloonacool in the final the only team to give Ballymote a close game and were 7 points the better team than Bornacoola of Leitrim. Have been scoring 17 points a game and conceding 11 just good numbers for any team. County U20 captain Jack Lavin probably their stand out player. Barrys will need to play as well as they did in the county final to prevail.

Just a seven day rest for Pearses on Sunday against Mohill who have been preparing for this game since October 12th. Eamonn O'Hara is sure to come with ultra defensive tactics, such tactics made it as difficult as possible for Brigids last year but I'm not sure is it as wise to play that way against Pearses . In Keith Beirne they have one of the best club forwards in Connacht and will be interesting to see who is chosen to mark him.

Best of luck to Pearses,Elphin and Barry's this weekend.

I see a post I drafted earlier in the week was not put up for some reason. I was just wondering what was the story with Hubert Darcy? He hasn't featured for Pearses all season from what I can see. Is he out injured? Will he feature at all this season?

He's getting back from
A serious injury after surgery. Very poorly treated from County Board. Great player for Pearses who hopefully will be back in new year. Would be great to see him return to Roscommon.

Congrats to Elphin for reaching the Intermediate final. Made more errors 1st half today than they did in previous few games and found themselves one point behind.

2nd half was more like themselves with a strong defensive display as they held Eastern Harps to one point and won by two points. Killoran, Higgins especially stood up 2nd half. Can't repeat their 1st half display today v Crossmolina next if they want to win that final.

Barry's beaten by Ballymote, not a surprise given our clubs poor record in the Junior Connacht championship the last few years but the margin of defeat a surprise. Was in the Hyde so can't comment on that match.

Was at Ballymote v Barrys game, Ballymote was overall the better team. Best of luck to P.P tomorrow, should have enough to pull away in the last 10 minutes.

Thought elphin were extremely sloppy today especially in first half. Second half they improved a bit. They were far fitter team In closing stages but will need to improve alot for the next day.

Well done to Pádraig Pearses for reaching another Connacht final. 1st half was competitive with both defences on top as Pearses led by one point.

Pearses very strong 2nd half as they outscored Mohill 0-10 to 0-1. Of course the home side cause not helped with playing the last 20 minutes with 14 men. Ronan Daly probably Motm with 0-4 from play but his brothers Niall, Conor weren't far behind. While Murray, Carthy doubled up to mark Keith Beirne out of the game. Tumulty, Kenny impressive also.

What do we think of the new Jersey lads? Think it looks pretty sweet I have to say. I think it would have been even better if they had no hoops and just the yellow on its own. Still probably up there as one of the nicest jerseys about and best Roscommon one in a while too. Now hopefully it'll be a lucky jersey and we see plenty of success in it. Ros Comáin abú

I like it too, people seem to love it or hate it, really dividing opinion!

Hoops ruin it for me, Certainly won't see many counties having a design like that for their jersey. The 2019 to 2021 jersey where the Primrose and blue blended into together at the bottom is still the worst of our recent jerseys but like then and now I don't care what it looks like so long as it's a jersey we have success in.

I was told today that Jack Duggan has transferred back to Longford.
That's a pity, would have been nice to see him try and stake a claim for a place on the championship panel.
On the jersey, I'm not a fan of it at all.....I might have been swayed a bit if it was the goalkeepers jersey!

I hate it as it's not a traditional Ros jersey.
I wouldn't have minded the one top blue band but 3 of them -- no thanks.
