There was nothing fancy or lightweight about their effort on Saturday. A bit of experience and big-match knowhow probably cost them; e.g. Jack Mullen came on as a second half sub and quickly scored 1-1 but went for a couple of more pointed efforts when the more percentage option was to work the ball into a better position. They also had to contend with injuries to starting defenders. Only for Damien Comer, who would trouble the best defence, they would have won it in comfort.
