Replying To JimB1991:  "Galway have done ok the last few years, they filled a bit of a gap and transition period in football over the last couple of years though.
Dublin and Mayo were the top 2 for a long period but have been on the decline for 3-4 years at least.
Now Donegal, Armagh, Tyrone are stepping up and Kerry will always be there or therabouts, I think Galway have missed the chance to capitalise. They have a good strong squad but in terms of the top class players the other teams have all over the pitch, Galway have 4 maybe 5."
Jim1991,I don't believe you are from our proud county. Please stop pretending or wishing you're from Donegal. I note you've never posted on our thread.

Replying To Jellybaby:  "Sean Kelly said he and Shane were the quickest in the squad?"
I suppose it depends over what distance. Johnny McGrath is clearly one of our faster players over 10 to 20 yards and that's the most critical type of pace. It's rare a player will get a clean 50 yard run.
Shane definitely a few years ago had brilliant acceleration and could sustain it too. He seems to have lost a bit of a step, which isn't surprising with the number of injuries he's had as well as being the other side of 30 now.

10 all stars in the squad. Gleeson, Glynn, Fitzgerald,Hernon, Sean Kelly, Tierney, Darcy, Thompson, Heaney are some of the the other contending starters. Who specifically are you saying is being carried?
More rubbish on saying the last three years are a transition period. Kerry, Dublin and Armagh the last three winners, all excellent teams, and they weren't the only excellent teams in that period.

They are a small GAA county who now and again puch a little above their weight...
Turmoil constantly, a weak Hurling set up , Roscommon beating them in Hurling a few weeks ago..
No All Ireland since 1951... top 2 !!! Stop Kennedy.."
How are we a "small" GAA county? You're a very arrogant and condescending poster.

Whether you like it or not Mayo were 2nd team in the country to Dublin for a number years. If they didn't come up against the greatest ever team they woukd have won a number of All Irelands.

Could say the same about Galway in last 3 or 4 years so your spouting rubbish about Galway being a mediocre team.

That's not the case. Didn't Donegal and Tyrone beat Mayo too, it wasn't all Dublin.

Could have, Should have, Didn't. Whether you like it or not Clare, there's no prizes for coming second.
