They were amalgamated with Killerrerin last year, but not this year.

Kilconly bust your flush there.

Once Galway beat New York it will likely mean a home semi final against the rossies. Galway players and management won't be taking them for granted after the real scare against Sligo this year. Drax_the_destroyer (UK) - Posts: 256 - 12/10/2024 18:51:03 2574389 Link 0 |
Was in tuam today for both games, kilconly and caltra took awhile to get going, when it did it wasn't a bad game of football better than the previous game, don't think caltra have enough to win it this year but are building nicely, the senior relegation was really poor quality Monivea were definitely the better team and deserved to win, as for Caherlistrane really really poor with mchugh over them im not surprised. how he is manger of a county minor team i will never know, as for who ever is coaching them shocking stuff altogether no system, or shape of any sort I can't see them back for a good few years, intermediate is an incredible difficult grade to get out of, hopefully the senior semis will produce two exciting games, Fox.1n.7he.b0x (Galway) - Posts: 134 - 12/10/2024 23:42:00 2574448 Link 0 |
As expected 2 very comfortable wins for intermediate favourites. I hadn't thought of the scenario where they might meet in the semi because 3 teams from 1 group in semi meaning that 1 repeat pairing cannot be avoided ( not sure if that criteria would have applied for semi anyhow but it's a moot point now)

Easy to post something like this whilst hiding behind a forum pseudonym. As the old saying goes: if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything. MrVelo (Galway) - Posts: 21 - 13/10/2024 12:53:23 2574498 Link 0 |
It's not like you, to not think of all the scenarios from the outset.

Yup. .....not a path to meeting in the final now anyway.....maybe next year?

Absolutely septic first game in Tuam, made even worse by an overly fussy referee. Salthill's attacking shape resembling a bad Junior B team. How in the name of god we have one of their management coaching in the Galway underage academy is baffling. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 798 - 13/10/2024 15:28:19 2574537 Link 2 |
Jaykers but Salthill were absolutely septic given the talent they have. Finnerty had a big bandage back on his leg and Tomo went off injured again. Very easy win for Corofin. Marooned (Galway) - Posts: 2293 - 13/10/2024 16:23:51 2574544 Link 0 |
We debated Salthill and their general underperformances a few weeks ago and it was repeated again today. They had a very mixed year last year, including a hammering from Corofin. They looked to be going better this year, but when it came to their first proper test they never got going at all. Killannin gave Corofin a far more competitive game a couple of weeks ago. Corofin played quite well, but they were cruising for the majority of the game. Very disappointing for Salthill. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2197 - 13/10/2024 17:06:07 2574551 Link 0 |
Sean Kelly and David Wynne, what a performance. Fair play to Moycullen for seeing that out with not having Cooke, Dessie or McLoughlin for the last fifteen minutes and Eoghan Kelly clearly not fit. No Niall Walsh either. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 798 - 13/10/2024 17:22:39 2574560 Link 1 |
Tuam were well in that game but their shooting completely deserted them for the final 10 minutes. Probably kicked 4 or 5 wides and dropped one short. Moycullen impressive in short bursts. Sean Kelly looks like he's getting back to something like his old self. They seem to have a few lads carrying knocks though so you would fancy Corofin in the final who seem to have a clean bill of health. City football is terrible highlighted by Salthill absolutely atrocious performance.. Belclare7 (Galway) - Posts: 121 - 13/10/2024 18:19:38 2574586 Link 2 |
Tuam missed a few point chances and Moycullen -MaighCuilinn missed a few goal chances, the result probably reflected the overall play. Salthill-Knocknacara never pressed Corofin possession in the opening game, so allowed their opponents a monopoly of the ball, result SK looked terrible and Corofin seemed to be coasting. The pattern of play will have major influence on the final result, if either team can dictate the style they want they will most likely succeed. The question is which one it will be, backtooldwall (Galway) - Posts: 138 - 13/10/2024 21:00:25 2574641 Link 0 |
Seems like in every game this year moycullen just find away but will need their fitness issues to clear up against Corofin. Same old salthill all bark no bite absolutely miles off it and Corofin have them a clipping in 3rd gear. It's the 2 best teams in the county by a fair bit and have been over last few years. It will be an intriguing battle with 2 very athletic teams. Winner of inter comes from Michael's & Oranmore but I fancy Michael's. No surprise to see Caherlistrane make the drop worst team by a country Mike in senior this year. Eire89 (Galway) - Posts: 302 - 13/10/2024 21:06:09 2574643 Link 0 |
A major part of the final will be Power's kick outs. If Moycullen push up it is a massive press to try and kick over when they are likely to have McLoughlin, Davoren, Clarke, Cooke and Maloney out there. At least four lads all 6ft2 plus. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 798 - 13/10/2024 22:13:29 2574662 Link 0 |
