A few players that come to mind that I believe should of been given a chance
Conal Gallagher
Barry McHugh (given chances before but still quality)
James Foley
Dylan Wall
Gavin Burke
Thomas Gleeson
Padriag Costello
Paul Mannion
Conor Raftery
Nathan Grainger
Dessie Conneally

Joyce definitely likes to bring in young lads with very minimal adult experience, compared to a 24 or 25 year old who plays a lot smarter. I know it may be brighter for the future to get these younger lads experience but it severely effects our current form.

Regarding Cunningham against Kilconly I was at that game and I know a lot of his scores came from frees, didn't think he scored that much all the same. Delighted to see him getting the chance as he is older, with a good bit of adult experience but just struggle to see him having impact.

I've a Degree in Strength & Conditioning FYI.
What about you?

Fair play, It will be interesting to see if any of those lads mentioned get a chance in 2025.

All them players named there are no where near good enough in fairness Paul Mannion was decent forward and still is at club level think his time has gone , Barry mchugh, Dessie given lots chance good club players not county standard

Now we have it, you want a job and a slice of the action. I never claimed to have any qualifications but figured out early on you'd an agenda, but if you think you can do better, head into Pearse Stadium and offer your services.

Could it be that I know what I'm talking about despite your assertions of ' non founded assumptions'. If I said I had no medical or S&C background you'd be saying I had no clue.
I have no agenda apart from looking out for Galways players. We need our best playing. That's not happening for whatever reason. You keep talkin the good talk though as you seem to be an expert on everything. A little bit of a knowledge is a dangerous thing.

Galwa are gone way back the last year or two. The backs doing alright but I suppose we are playing 8 or 9 of them and only 2 natural forwards midfielders thrown into Full and centre forward, negative stuff and we still can't keep the goals out. It's Joyce's last year by the looks of it. I actually feel bad for the players everyone seems to be playing with fear afraid to make a mistake or you're taken off before half time. Positives so far in the league are McGrath did well in most games, found it a bit difficult against McCarron but he will learn from that will be top class. O curraoin looks like he has it all, another few years should be top class forward. We are still relying on Conroy big time around the middle he's the only man that has a bit of cuteness to win ball and a free. Maher I would have concerns about, great man to run and track a player but gets caught for every short kickout going he wouldn't have to do half the running if he used his head and stopped lads earlier. Fitzgerald still has a lot to learn would worry about him in the summer when the quick ball comes Into it. Con o Callaghan had him at every turn the last day lacks quickness/cuteness.
Day needs to man up a bit if he's going to hold the centre spot . Easy day out most days for him nobody marking him when we have the ball he gets to carry the ball up the field and look for a spectacular kick pass. They look well when they come off. Every time we are defending he is marking nobody sweeping. He needs to put a few hards hits in and hold the centre lots of players have walked past him the last few games.(2 goals vs Derry)
Can't expect us to be doing much better in the league really considering the injuries most of the experienced/top players are injured. I would expect more from the lads that are there a couple of years. Molloy, McHugh finnerty etc to step up a bit, sign of a good player to get going when it's all turning south. I would like to see Heaney given a more important role in the centre. He did well the last few games breaking tackles and going a past a man to open the game up , he doesn't get enough ball on the wing, he is one of the most experienced players on the team time for him to show it if Joyce would let him. Really Joyce is paying the price for driving away the more experienced players in the county and going with the youth. It's no good to him in his final year with all the injuries.

You could be completely right. I'd just be comparing them players to some of the current starters and bench and feel they would definitely offer more. I would disagree with the idea of a 26 year old time has gone. As mentioned earlier Joyce and the management team have shown preference to younger inexperienced players which is good to certain degree, but you need a good mix of youth and experience. Agree re Dessie but if he got a run of league games this year with all the injuries I feel it could of brought him.

I never said that I am an expert, I just respect the efforts of anyone who puts their hand up to play, coach or assist the team. I find it extremely frustrating when people have a cut from behind a forum. I wouldn't be a big fan of social media but I've got to have a little bit of respect for someone who posts on Social media with their name and picture profile available for everyone to see, especially if they are been critical. I simply pointed out that some of the richest sporting organisations around, (Man Utd, Liverpool, NY Jets) can get multiple injuries and struggle to get their elite players out of the treatment room despite an endless amount of resources. You've unfortunately demonstrated a high level of disrespect for the Galway backroom team by questioning them more than once on this thread. Unless you have examined or assessed any of the players currently injured, you are making assumptions with no foundation. I'll be having a few pints in Tatler Jack on Saturday night if you want to discuss it further.

I think people being a tad unfair on PJ considering all the players missing. I don't think there are many players not given chances and quite simply most new guys aren't up to the level of competing against top teams (Dublin & Kerry).
The one worry I have is all the rumours that regularly come out of the camp - most are probably mostly rubbish but something does not seem right. Out of the following names (copied from previous post) they all aren't injured, some are opting not to play for Galway, and I seriously wonder about the extents of all the injuries. If Crokes had been in AN All Ireland club on Paddy day I wonder would Shane be playing it?
Shane Walsh, Peter Cooke, Ian Burke, Damien Comer, Sean Kelly, Cillian McDaid, Liam Silke, Rob Finnerty, Sam O'Neill, Tomo Culhane, Paul Kelly, Matthew Tierney, James McLoughlin, Cian Hernon, Patrick Kelly, Michael Daly

An impressive list there but I wonder why so many are injured or if some are not wanted or they don't want to be there?
I'm sure someone else more qualified than this poster will be willing to add to this list!

Apologies for going after the person here. We all want to see Galway doing well. Let's hope things turn around in time for cship. Perhaps I'm making some assumptions but not as many as you think. Anyways I'm sure everyone is fed up with this thread at this stage so I'll leave it at that. If we can get everyone back on the pitch come group matches we still have the quality to be a Top 4 side.

O'Flaherty, O'Conghaile, O'Currain, McCabe & Egan are still u21 and Cunningham is in his first year on the Senior panel. O'Flaherty was part of the senior panel last year but thats a huge step up for the rest of the lads, its very rare that someone comes straight in and makes a huge impact.

Its not just the big names Galway are missing, its the likes of Peter Cooke, Hernon and McLaughlin to a lesser extent but the first 2 would have started every league game. Patrick Kelly another huge loss as is Paul Kelly who would certainly be starting ahead of the likes of D'Arcy and I suspect young Sam O'Neill would have too if he'd not got injured.

Just to add all bar a few of those named were in the Galway development squad that trained in tandem with the senior team and were given minutes in FBD league.

Very sad to say that all the players you listed above would make a much better Galway team than what is there at the moment and I know most of them are midfielders / forwards. This is not a case of the classic cliché thrown around on this forum sometimes i.e. "the longer that some players are missing the better they become"!

That is incorrect, only one player Conor Raftery from that list got minutes in FBD league. And to my knowledge he was the only who also trained with the development panel.

Very strong bench anyway. Surprised Dara Walsh and Luc O'Connor aren't in the starting 15.

Interesting that only 4 of the match day squad from the All Ireland minor final two years ago are there - two starters and two on the bench.
You'd have thought with a team that wins the AI there would be more involved at 20s two years later.
Two of last years u20 starting team on the bench this time.
Best of luck to them anyhow.
I don't know a huge amount about a lot of the players involved.
