I don't know, I saw my mate Barry Kelly on the Saturday Game last night, touching around these very subjects, with the assembled panel. You're probably more out of touch than you think, over there in the US of A. Celtics in 7 etc.

Shockingly bad start from the lads, with the Dubs showing all the intensity. Second to every ball and playing like a team out for a Sunday walk. Is this game over before halftime? Shefflin has serious questions to answer in the time left. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3143 - 28/05/2023 14:34:11 2482152 Link 1 |
While I expected Dublin to come out and hurl with pride I also expected the same from Galway. Disgusted so far. Galway need to WAKE UP in the 2nd half. Wexford and Westmeath are fighting hard in their matches I see. Good for them. Galway could use some of that PRIDE! Galway Abu!!!

How often have we seen this before? We have an absolutely terrible record against Dublin but yet seem to keep on taking them for granted and end up paying the price. I really expected that there would be no such complacency under Shefflin but that was a shocking first-half effort. Gaillimh_Abu (Galway) - Posts: 1016 - 28/05/2023 14:47:02 2482162 Link 1 |
I hear you Trump. Remembering it's an amateur game I try to not get too worked up at players, but considering the money pumped into this effort as whole this is a shocking effort. Full credit to the Dubs for capitalizing but any team worth its salt would be doing this to us the way we're playing. A collective failure like this can only be put on the manager. Huge second half required and little evidence to suggest we have it in us. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3143 - 28/05/2023 14:55:42 2482165 Link 1 |
Its far from over, you feel if Galway just stepped up a little it would be enough. But a lot of wides. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4946 - 28/05/2023 15:16:59 2482169 Link 1 |
I'll proudly take this draw. Great second half. The changes and substitutions certainly helped. Hard luck to a battling Dublin team. Galway Abu!

We need somebody in Turloughmore to find 14 more Daithi Burke clones. Some second half from him galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 806 - 28/05/2023 15:41:59 2482176 Link 2 |

Well what to make of that. 17/18 wides, AWOL in the first half and still managed a draw. Dublin will be disappointed obviously. Odd game. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3143 - 28/05/2023 15:43:41 2482178 Link 1 |
Thanks arock. Good luck to yourselves in the all-Ireland series. Maybe we will meet again!

Very odd game, but I'd predict a big improvement v kilkenny, some awful shooting and miscommunication at times but fantastic comeback regardless of the breeze. Happy enough. Galway9801 (Galway) - Posts: 1942 - 28/05/2023 15:57:40 2482188 Link 2 |
1-25 scored 18 wides and no score from 3 of our starting forwards especially C Whelan and C Cooney.B Concannon came on C Mannion injured. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2481 - 28/05/2023 19:29:52 2482286 Link 1 |
Great comeback again from Gaillimh. Full back line needs looking at though. Plenty of wides too, 18 I think. Anyway unbeaten so well done to all. galwayford (Galway) - Posts: 2585 - 28/05/2023 19:54:05 2482307 Link 1 |
Our set up was wrong up front. 2 lads isolated surrounded by blue shirts ended up being completely starved of ball. No coincidence our one goal came the only time we pressed in numbers. Full back line were constantly left flat-footed and floundering in the wake of their marks who looked like speed-demons in comparison. They were powerful when they got into physical contact but lost a lot of the foot races. But I have to acknowledge the impressive come back. I wasn't expecting it and only happened because we had some experienced players who could take the game by the scruff of the neck. Fair play to the lads for that, but lots to ponder for Mr. Shefflin. festinog (Galway) - Posts: 3143 - 28/05/2023 19:59:36 2482313 Link 1 |
Anyone explain how c cooney got 7 pts from play against Antrim in the last few years he must be 1 in 4 at best and when he's lining up a penalty you don't expect him to score. Thoughts subs esp grealish and linnane. We overplay ball in defence and then never play the right pass in attack a lot. There was four or five occasions when there needed one more pass to create a clear goal chance and they took on shot instead The old heads daithi and joe cooney kept us in it jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1308 - 28/05/2023 20:35:50 2482335 Link 2 |
