Replying To CillTormoir:  "Will Gort Toms game be replayed this weekend? Final pushed back to 28th?"
Good question. I surely hope so. I can't see Gort winning but you never know. That's why they play the games I suppose.

Well done to Salthill on an excellent victory hopefully put a stop to them losing good hurlers to other city clubs going forward. As said here already hopefully they go on and reach an All Ireland Final . THe Junior 1 is a great competition to be fair. And id say the football board will have to do something similar. Credit to Micheal Breathnach aswel they just lacked a bita luck on the day , but as a neutral it was great to see both teams having genuine respect for each other. No verbals on the sideline which can be seen all to much these days.I do think Junior clubs should be helped in the development , some players on those teams have huge talent but should be brough into development panels for periods , that would help the clubs aswel raise standards. Moycullen will win the Inter final IMO and again it would be great if they could reach Croke Park and match what the footballers did a couple of years ago.

Well done to Salthill. Junior A has become a far weaker standard since intermediate teams stopped getting relegated lol. When the revamp of the championships comes over the next few years we will see a huge rise in standard for junior A and it will be very competitive. Great to see Salthill win silverware all the same. puckemhard, when do Salthill lose their players to other clubs? Do you mean they dont play with salthill even if they're living in the catchment area, or do lads transfer to other clubs after minor or whatever? A genuine question. I wouldn't know much about them.

The junior A winners get promoted. Junior 1 is just for junior exclusive clubs and they go on to represent Galway at junior level, but the winners do not get promoted to intermediate.

Did Salthill not get promoted to intermediate over the last 2 years?

Nope Satlhill havent gone up. They go on now to the Connacht Final

Two players that spring to mind are Tadhg Haran who now plays for Mellows and Collins who played midfield for Rahoon on Saturday. But i do think with the numbers Salthill have its only a matter of time before they progress in hurling. MB keeper made two top drawer saves in the match which was a standout. Be interesting to see Donal O Shea in the next few matches for them.
