Replying To katser:  "No surprise with Clairnbridge winning as they really have a very good team!
Ballindeeren are safe even after losing today (score diff)
It's a straight shoot out between Mullagh and Tynagh-Abbey/Duniry...TAD have to win by 3pts to be safe!
But WOW shock of the year with Killimor beating the mighty Meelick-Eyrecourt!
Killimor through to Co. Intermediate Final....could it possibly happen that lowly Killimor get promoted to Senior while one of their more established Senior Club neighbours Mullagh or Tynagh-Abbey/Duniry get relegated to Intermediate!!!!!
What has the World come too!!"
That's not true as far as I know, you can't be relegated on scoring difference.

I thought the Clarenbridge match would be closer. Fair play to them. South Galway Abu!!! lol.

You cant be relegated on score difference but score difference can dictate where you finish in the group of 3. Bottom two play in relegation final.

Ballinderreen aren't safe if that's the case if Tynagh-Abbey-Duniry hammer Mullagh?

I stand corrected, reference relegation.....Ballindeeren are not safe as the bottom two after the round Robin games play off in a relegation final! Got carried away with Killimors win v Meelick-Eyrecourt......still rattled and in shock with that freak result!!!

TAD winning by 5 points or more would be enough to see them safe if the system is the same as last year's one.

I've heard Mullagh are safe after yesterday though but I'm dubious about this? Doesn't seem fair if that's true.

2/3 weeks time I'd say. No rush anyway as Galway champs not out in AI series til Jan.

TAD have to beat Mullagh by minimum 6pts to be safe.
Yes I heard something similar reference Mullagh...that they are exempt from been Relegated.....a bit like Clairnbridge, Athenry and Kiltormer (Intermediate) from few years back!

Great day for salthill hurling. Got over the line today in the Junior 1 final v breathnachs. First piece of silver since winning junior B. Huge congrats to team and management Junior A final two years ago, semi last year and robbed in quarter this year. A seriously good match today with serious standard. Highly enjoyable

Hopefully a good run in All Ireland series like breathnachs did last time will prime us for another assault on Junior A next year.

Fair play. Good to see hard work being rewarded.
Breathnachs aside, it was a very good weekend for hurling in Conamara, with Moycullen hammering Rahoon in their semi final and An Spidéal battling past Athenry today to stay up intermediate.
A serious effort from the lads after consecutive weeks of hard matches between football and hurling.

Delighted for spiddal moycullen and the general freternity of hurling in the West. Take exception to your snide remark on breathnschs. We were lucky today and got the breaks. Breathnachs are a credit to there parish and never gave up and the team and management stayed on the pitch for the presenration. They know how to conduct themselves.

To be fair to him, there was nothing snide about his remark. All he said was that it wasn't a good weekend for Breathnachs, because they lost. Maybe you just misread.

I was about to post the same in response. I'm assuming it was misinterpreted. It was a good day for Conamara hurling, apart from MB being beaten. If they'd won, it would have been even better of course.
They haven't been too far off contesting promotion from junior A in recent years. It would be great to have a few more teams up in intermediate. Barna/Furbo are another who were at a similar level a few years ago.

First piece of silver since winning Junior B. Any idea of the year ?

Could only see the Bearna Furbo 2010 and Micheal Breathnachs 2011 clubs listed as Junior B championship winners in the role of honour on the Galway GAA website. Was it before then as less details on the earlier years.

Will Gort Toms game be replayed this weekend? Final pushed back to 28th?

Would imagine so. Should be 2 weeks between a semi final and final. It would be a little unfair on Toms/Gort at this stage of the championship to expect them to play 2 weeks in a row. And a 3 week break is no disadvantage to Clarinbridge.
