Unsurprisingly childish remark from yourself, given their u-turn on masks, u-turn on antigen tests, track record of crazy modelling and his remarkable claim only yesterday that primary schools were not an issue in recent times in terms of covid infection would you have any faith in him or NPHET for that matter. The UK certainly isn't the best reference currently when it comes to politics and health but its telling their CMO Chris Whitty has little or no profile where ours is now a full blown celebrity.

where is the best model for dealing with covid? why have they not asked advice from people who survived the last one as one shinner suggested? everyone , in every country is learning as we go along, the virus is changing and the advice needs to change, the whole thing, inc schools, is up in the air again, , and things could be changed again totally by febuary

survive the last one? what are you talking about, the spainsh flu a 100 years ago? NPHET give optimistic and pessimistic projections for case, hospital and ICU numbers and in the last year the reality has been better than there optimistic forecast on a consistent basis. yes we are learning and don't know what's around the corner but the reality is there probably be another variant this time next year and same the winter following that, are we just going to do the same thing again and again.

Great to see you're a health expert as well as a GAA expert. Where did you get your degree?

Think so. The problem seems to be these days not the absolute numbers of deaths. But more so not only the abject lack of ICU beds in particular but hospital capacity in general. The buildings themselves have rooms which could be used. Staffing seems to be the biggest problem. For example here in Wexford there are only 5 (five) ICU beds. Exactly the same number as we had in 2019. There are no additional ordinary beds either since then. This is not on account of a lack of physical room for beds. The HSE as a whole has way too many administrative staff relative to frontline staff. This is replicated nationally. This is why we have restrictions. 31765 people sadly died in 2020. 31134 sadly died in 2019. A difference of 631. 30127 died in 2015. 30667 died in 2016. An increase of 540. I'm not trying to belittle the disease or make light of peoples personal grief but in the greater scheme of things covid hasnt decimated the worlds population like the Spanish flu did. The black death did. Or smallpox and TB routinely did. The abject lack of interest and effort in solving these core issues which exist long before covid did shown collectively the government, NPHET, and the HSE are why the country is where it's at. The money spent vaccinating healthy people under 40 with a vaccine that does not prevent transmission against a disease which largely doesnt affect them would have been better spent on training up more ICU nurses. These vaccines at 15 euro per shot plus the cost of administering each shot, 25 euro to GPs for example, cost in excess of 40 million euros. 40 million euros would've paid for a significant number of ICU doctors and nurses. And then we wouldnt have the shameful statistic that despite being the 5th richest country in the world by GDP per capita we only gave half of the European average of ICU beds. Not half the top countries. Half the average.

You are right sorry lads. It only got brought up after someone posted about the Byrne Cup going ahead then someone else posted something or another.

What do you lads think about the fixtures? Away to Leitrim, Cavan, London and Carlow and home to Sligo, Tipp and Waterford. Wouldve been good to have had 4 home games but overall all the games are winnable.

Certainly not to Zinny's extent anyway in you're brief time here you've shown yourself to be little more than a wind up merchant and someone who can't be taken seriously.

Will admit it in the past but as its gone on, I realised people have made up their minds for good or bad and there is very little that will change that. So whether I agree or disagree, I would prefer if none were on here now.

Back to football, Shels missing a star attacker, I wonder would their exploits persuade O'Gara to join?
