I say worry about your own county . 2 all- Ireland in the hold life time of the gaa ... and with some of the best players in the country ye should be winning all - Irelands a lot more offen so look at why that is instead of worrying about others"
You're living in the past, I'd say we'd have 3 or 4 sure starters in the rest of Ireland team, more if I was picking the team.

Typical Meath moaning. Go out and train, and get fit, then you might start beating the Dubs.

Donegal have won 5 of the last 10 Ulster titles and an All Ireland all in the last 10 years. Oh yea I almost forgot about the Division 2 League title they won a few years back. Can't remember who they beat in the final.

Well, I don't know because they aren't in Leinster but I would be willing to say they would have won as many as Meath, if not more :)

no I say you would have won 0 the same as us .. as ye have got good hammerings off Dublin over the last 5 years .. so look at your own county first and with the players ye have why have ye underachieved

I'm sure you're a future Mick O'Dwyer in waiting alright. All it takes is attitude! Gimme a break. The top teams have been tearing into the Dubs for the past decade and it has made no difference whatsoever, if anything their margin of victory over their nearest rivals (not to mention the cannon fodder counties in Leinster) is increasing and their team's average age is dropping.

I wonder how many All-Irelands in a row it'll take before the penny drops with some people? My bet is ten, but then some are remarkably hard-headed...

The systematic approach put in place in Dublin, coupled with long-term changes (depopulation?) in rural Ireland mean that the last decade is not a blip, but a pattern. Dublin will dominate the All-Ireland championship for now on."
A Mayo man making snide remarks about Mick O'Dwyer when several of Mayos All -Ireland losses can be directly attributed to poor management on the day.

Pity those managers didn't have an ounce of O'Dwyers attitude as Mayo had the players to win but were hampered by stupid decisions on the sideline ."]What are you talking about, you absolute leibide? I didn't make any snide remarks about Micko (who's a legend of the game). I ridiculed your suggestion that all it takes is the right attitude to topple the best team ever to play the game.

And of course, predictable enough that you and Bellend would make it all about Mayo (which is what a lot of posters on HS and other fora do when they don't have an argument to put up). Forget about Mayo for a moment- how come the traditional powers of the game haven't won the top honours recently, the Kerrys, Galways, Corks, Meath, Down etc.?

I guess they just have to try harder, right?

We beat Dublin in 2014 in the AI semi final and won the AI in 2012. Do you not think we would have won Leinster then? But sure it doesn't matter because we are in Ulster and have won 5 Ulster titles and 1 AI title in the last 10 years. Only silverware Meath could have dreamt about in that period. But sure it could be worse Meath 1977, look at poor Mayo! If you could buy Sam Maguire, they would probably find a way to lose the cash on the way to buying it.

Define Hammerings? If we got hammered against them then I'd love to know how you describe the beatings that Meath have taken against them.

Replying To galwayford:  "I do believe that the GAA needs to put more emphasis on the Allianz leagues. And change the format of the All Ireland championships. For example serious consideration should be given to proposals like so:
1. All counties can bring in two players from outside, eg Galway might take 2 Mayo players and so on.
2. Start looking at amalgamating counties, eg Meath and Westmeath for the Championships.
3. Get the govt to allow back the crowds to the matches.
4. Stop giving strong counties like Kerry and Dublin so many home matches. Kerry playing again in Killarney yesterday for example."
To be fair the Munster football championship is done on a home and away basis. The last time Kerry played Clare the game was on in Clare so this year it was on in Kerry. Its done the same way as Connaught and its done very fairly.Next time we play Clare in the championship the game will be in Clare. We play Tipperary next and Tipp have home advantage.

16 points? I think you are dreaming sir. The only super 8 game we've played against Dublin was in 2018 and Dublin won by 5 points. I'm from Donegal not Roscommon.

I think what you said is actually a perfect demonstration of a typically Irish snide remark, it suggests that MOD's only attribute was "attitude".

At no point did I say "all it takes is attitude" but what I did say is that if you go into any game with a defeatist attitude as a manager especially, what message does that send to your players ?

When the margins are tight in a game, the decisions of the manager on the sideline can be the difference between winning and losing.

I think that's a fair comment and is actually complimentary to the Mayo players.
