He doesn't have Clarks shadow hovering over him every time he plays as No1 now, and his kick-outs are far superior.

Mayo have the players to tighten up, its whether Horan accommodates it into his aggressive playing style."
Ok who's putting them on what now ? At least if you gonna jump in do it accurately. We won't meet either this year as we won't beat dubs and here is a predilection, neither will any of them.
Now if we were in any other provinces I believe we'd have a shout at winning them, maybe not a great one but definitely a shout when you look that in the recent past Cavan , Roscommon and Tipperary have all won them. Is it beyond the realms of possibilities that a Meath Kildare or Westmeath wouldn't win it ?? No it's not. So less of saying I said things I didn't, I stand over the fact that on a championship day I'd happily play Tyrone or Monaghan rather than facing the blue juggernaut.

Replying To BeJasus:  "So ye didn't beat either.
Lets be honest here, and have a bit of honesty and self respect for yourself.

You have put Meath on a false pedestal , and when the inevitable happens you start piking fights with other counties to
deflect away what you already know...

Meath aren't a Div 1 team,
More a Yo-yo team that will inevitably end up jumping back and forth from Div 1 and Div 2.
Tis what it is."
I would agree with this. And Meath being a yo-yo team isn't a bad thing at all. For years we were envious of Roscommon and Cavan who were doing this while we couldn't get promoted. From 2008 when the 4 division structure came in until 2018 we spent every season in division 2 bar 2013 which was division 3. Being a 1/2 yo-yo team would be a marked improvement and represent real progress. And with our 2020 minors in a Leinster final in 4 weeks team, we are looking for 3 Leinster 17's in a row. This has already produced 3 nailed on starters for the team in Jordan Morris, Matt Costello, and Cathal Hickey, and if an injury hadn't hit you could probably add Shane Walsh to that. So a division 1/2 yo-yo team doesn't sound bad to me once we are competitive when we go up and could pick up the odd win. In 2-3 years when the players from the underage success continue to filter through then we could maybe make the jump into the top 6 counties

The trade-off between Clarke and Hennelly was the former's ability under the high ball versus the latter's kickouts. Both have generally been regarded as equally good at shot stopping. If you take into account some of the calamities which occurred when Rob was between the sticks, you'd have to assume that at least in the past Clarke was a better communicator with his defenders. This may have changed with Rob maturing. One thing for sure, when Mayo play a team with the ability to deliver quality ball towards the square he'll be put under some sort of examination to test his current judgement and ability to deal with diagonal high ball. Hopefully James Horan's faith in him will be vindicated when that day arrives, along with the approach to give no game time to his understudy.

What ?
I'm just calling it as i see it, like the rest of the forum users.

Being a Yo-yo team for a few years is no bad thing, it means yer on the verge or at least bringing consistency whilst building...
Meath slept through the modern era and have only woke up ....but it will take another 5/6 years before you start seeing Meath on a similar platform to the Mayos /Donegals and Tyrones of this world..

Forget the Top 2.
They re on another level.
