Who was that player that was made an example of? Just wondering.

I prefer to remember Connolly's 2-05 in the All Ireland club final of 2014 or Costelloe's 0-03 when he came in as a second b v Mayo in the All Ireland final of 2016.

Don't be making up stories and then worrying about them, bad strategy.
Another genius on here telling us he could lipread what Costello said and to who? A load of bull****"
The red card was based on what the linesman told the referee.

Why would anything else then go into the referee's report?

Why would the referee or linesman then give a different version of that story to the CCC?

Either they changed their story (WHY!?) or the weren't believed (WHY!?).

Linesmen or referees do not give stories to the CCC. Direct evidence from officials is not elicited unless an appeal progresses to the DRA. The only evidence available to the CCC from officials is the Referees match report, my only point is we do not know the contents of the Referees report so we cannot make assumptions as to why the red card was rescinded, maybe we will hear more?

This Dublin team will be remembered as a great team who played football the right way, tough but fair and with a panel and management team who are the most humble I've ever seen in the GAA. Counties who have won nothing don't carry themselves like the way these Dublin players do. They're certainly not the team that blew kisses to the hill like before.
What really sums them up is how little media they do. Not picking on mayo but they for example always have a queue of players ready to give interviews. Dublin are on a different level to everyone else before you even bring football into it at all.

In fairness you do have a point, they do everything right, which is what annoys us all.

Fair play to you tiobraid that's a very positive and generous assessment of a team that from a purely biased point of view you would have to be very proud of.
I think that overall, while nobody is perfect, they do a lot of things right and are a good advertisement for our games.
It's understandable and only human nature that people want to see a team that has been so dominant beaten. I do feel very fortunate to have been lucky enough to have been able to enjoy this purple patch for Dublin and the great times this side has allowed us to be part of.
Best of luck to Tipp in you're Meeting with Mayo who will be a big test but whatever the outcome these players have given great excitement to many in what has been a pretty lousy year.

I'm sure with the news today that RTE can hear the referees communications this matter will be put to bed soon.
