Ah no,not the underprivileged Kerry boys again? Username will be bringing out the appeal to help David Clifford get new boots again ;)
Whatever about an unbalance in funding that may or may not exist but to have Kerry and other well off counties play the poor mouth makes me want to play the world's smallest violin here. Get the begging bowl out for David's new boots for Christmas pal ;)

Replying To The_Fridge:  "I can see this descending into the usual Dublin vs Kerry sh##show.

Let's try to be level headed here and try to stop the one upmanship

I wish Dublin supporters would come on here and admit the funding is unbalanced-because it is. You can argue about population, players per whatever etc. You Dubs support change to the current structure's?

I've said in a previous thread the govt funds/GAA funds far outweighed where Dublin were talent wise. They had the players, everyone could see that, all they needed was a good manager in Gilroy to realise their true potential. I mean they weren't Wicklow in Div 4. The tap should have been turned off years ago. Now it's to late and the Dubs are a behemoth that can't be stopped. They might get caught once. But they will go on a run of 4-5 all Ireland's in a row.

Kerry and other counties should stop playing the tiny violin, we have excellent facilities etc.

My main point is I wish someone from Dublin would keep a cool head from the taughts and say "you know what, the Dubs playing in Croke Park week in week out is an unfair advantage" or "the funding/sponsorship has got unbalanced."

We don't have to back our county teams every time, it doesn't make you a any less of a supporter to disagree every once and a while."
Ah ok, if it makes you feel better. Dublin playing in Croke Park is an advantage. We've a decent record up in Omagh by the way even on a narrow pitch! Now what will us Dubs do about the Dubs playing at Croke Park? We don't have a say in where Dublin play their games but you know this. Now on funding, can you give us the facts and figures per county please. You can't dismiss population, that's just nonsense. It's GDF afterall. If you're not developing games in your county amongst your population then where are you developing it. So if you can give us the county breakdowns please, reference the populations, number of clubs, number of registered players and dual-code status would be useful as we all know that Dublin have plowed huge funds into hurling, to little avail of course which calls into question the whole benefit of funding but how and ever.

Speaking of appeals, how's Costellos appeal going for cursing at the linesman?

Your hurlers have arguably made even greater strides forward since 2004 than your footballers.

Ahh sure i suppose it'll go the same way as Galvin's for slapping the notebook out of Paddy Russell's hand and shouting at the linesman.

I would nt agree on the hurling joxer. Dublin have won a Leinster title and have been contenders. 20 years ago they were very low standard. I agree though on CP. The dubs don't make the fixtures and and when you get home draw anyway it makes sense to play in CP. Population well that's a natural thing and not all dublin's fault either lol. Plenty of country people in Dublin producing Dublin kids. Maybe bring in a China rule of one child per family lol.

Haven't made a Leinster Final since 2014 Mick and the cats hammered us by double scores that day. Granted we won a Leinster in 13, probably the best squad the hurlers have had since the early 90s when they made 2 Leinsters in a row but there you have it, despite all of the money ploughed into hurling we are no more successful now then we were 30 years ago. But money buys you titles apparently.

Money won't buy you titles Joxer as well you know. You need talent too but my point is they are still top tier. When I started watching Dubs hurlers Kerry were beating and Kerry were good either. Its only last year Dublin ko D Galway out of the championship. To say the hurlers have nt improved big time is not true. They seem to have regressed a little but they def top table now.

They. came close in 2013 under Anthony Daly to making a critical breakthrough. In the semi-final against Cork. .Ryan O'Dwyer had a shot on goal that was saved by Nash and then he got a second yellow. I have always thought that was a missed opportunity for Dublin hurling. Cork drew with Clare and it went to a replay and Shane O"Donnell just had one of those days.

Anthony Daly did a great job with Dubs but rumour has it he does nt come cheap. You need money for Dalo.

Yes for sure Avon. Dublin very unlucky in 13 nó doubt. Should ve been in final but for a bit of bad luck. When Ger Cunningham came in there was a player fallout and they regressed a little and last years result v Galway aside they have nt shown alot under Kenny as of yet.
